TD4 top mount bearing assemble for suspension strut.

Just out of interest. When the three securing bolts are taken out I gather the shock will expand up through the bulkhead. About how far will it expand? Is it possible using a long bolts to bit by bit pull the assembly down into position. Are the three threaded holes right through the bulkhead or...

TD4 top mount bearing assemble for suspension strut.

Thanks for reply. Was hoping to avoid removing the strut but I can see that the shock may expand. Will have a think whether shock can be retained in its position. Will let you know. Thanks again.

TD4 top mount bearing assemble for suspension strut.

Hello all. 2005 TD4. In relation to the shock absorber strut assembly front and back. Wanted to ask if the mounting assembly can be removed and renewed by compressing the coil spring and undoing the top nuts that hold the assembly in place? Or is it a matter of removing the whole strut itself...

    Wishbone replacement

brilliant. Thanks for the advice It damages the rubber boot but if the arm is scrap that doesn't matter. Loosen the nut as far as you can, break the joint then remove the nut. Don't forget to fit the nut a few turns when the joint goes back in before getting the new taper stuck into the hub or...

    Wishbone replacement

Good morning all. Recently posted about wishbones being replaced on my TD4. Thanks for all advice. Just gathering info on doing the job. Wanted to ask about releasing the taper on the ball joint. I can see that the nut securing the joint will not come all the way off as it fouls the gaitor and...

Good morning all. Just prepping for replacing the wishbones on my 2005 TD4. Quick question. The separate casings that have the two bolts and holds the wishbone threaded arm arm in place have bushes in them . Are they easy to get out or is it a garage job? . Bearing in mind am doing the job...

    Overheating issue.

Brilliant thank you. I gather it’s a bit of a mission to change the thermostat. Is there another fox for the problem. I saw something about putting a second thermostat in one of the inlet hoses ?

    Overheating issue.

Roughly between zero ( cold) and the middle as described. No issues with the heater that’s fine. So around 1000 o clock if you like.

    Overheating issue.

Apols. The needle was in the middle then dropped back once I was moving. It could have moved past the middle which would indicate the engine getting hotter. This is something I will need to test I think. Just let it idle for a while. Just need some advice on the best way forward. Thanks.

    Overheating issue.

No warning lights came on. I was back on the move before the temp gauge passed the 1200 point. It may not have gone further but I was wondering whether that was a normal thing to happen. The temp gauge dropped right back down again once I was moving. Any advice on tests I could do would be...
