Single Point Swing Away Spare Wheel Carrier

That's right. The internal frame if the door has stress cracked near the wheel mounting plate. The hinges are fine. Keen on the chassis mounted system as all the load goes through the heavy chassis, rather than the thin body tub material.

    Black smoke on gear change

Thought I'd add an update to this thread, as things moved on after the last posts. The problems seemed to be a combination of things. The turbo was worn out, so that was replaced, which improved things, but then the problem of smoke returned combined with a drastic loss of power. By this time...

Single Point Swing Away Spare Wheel Carrier

Evening Miktdish, Yes, that's the one. It is the same picture in both adds. Safari Equipment don't make it anymore so the LRS one must be old stock. Been looking for a single point but various suppliers seem to be out of stock at the moment. The O.R.E version is on back order only. I can't...

    Black smoke on gear change

    Black smoke on gear change

Hello Flat, Yes, the Landy is new to me. It has done this since I bought it in July, so it hasn't come on suddenly. I should have mentioned it has done 180000 miles.

    Black smoke on gear change

Hi All, hoping someone can help me with some advice. I have a moment of black smoke just after each gear change when going up the gears. It clears up as soon as the revs pick up. Most noticeable on steep hills at low speeds, such as hilly urban areas where you never get the chance to get some...

Hello Everyone, I am a new member based in Cumbria. I've been reading Landyzone for yonks, but only recently bought my first Landy, a 300tdi 110 County Station Wagon. I learnt to drive in a Series 2A Utility, and have used a couple of more modern Landys over a few years in mountain rescue, so...
