Missing infotainment system in Vogue 2010 TDV8 facelift version

Yes you can blank off multiple pieces of equipment to find the fault. That is the easiest way to determine what is broken. Plugs are cheap which is why I am surprised that it hasn't been done already to make the dash display work, unless the problem is a hard to fix or uneconomical repair...

Missing infotainment system in Vogue 2010 TDV8 facelift version

You need to blank them both off together in case they are both bad. I find it odd the previous owner wouldn't have done this after one or both packed up as the connections are cheap as chips, unless it is something else that has packed up elsewhere.

Did you bypass both at once?

I would blank out the phone module at the top as previously suggested. If water has got in this is the first thing that goes pop.

Missing infotainment system in Vogue 2010 TDV8 facelift version

There looks to be fibre connection to the phone module at the top, does this have two fibre leads in it? If it does trace them to see where they go. If there looks to be a complete ring then a piece of equipment in the ring has failed. My guess would be the phone module at the top as they tend...

Missing infotainment system in Vogue 2010 TDV8 facelift version

The orange flashing power light and the display stuck on the LR or RR logo is because of the open MOST fibre optic loop, if you make that a ring again it may work enough that the display works so you can set the clock and access the features that are installed and working. Please bear in mind if...

Missing infotainment system in Vogue 2010 TDV8 facelift version

Not sure if this helps but my 2006 has a DVD multi changer underneath the Sat Nav unit in the marked photo above. Does yours have screens in the back of the front seat head rests that can be viewed from the rear seats? That is what the DVD changer runs in mine.

Missing infotainment system in Vogue 2010 TDV8 facelift version

Good spot, hadn't noticed that, but let's say there is a missing plug with two fibres on it, one in to the lower plug and one to the upper fiber with no plug, putting the existing two together and bypassing it would be the same as having what is missing and bypassing both would it not?

Missing infotainment system in Vogue 2010 TDV8 facelift version

The missing fiber connection is floating above in the image, it needs pushing back into the lower plug to make a pair and can then be bypassed. I drew a red circle around both see attached

Missing infotainment system in Vogue 2010 TDV8 facelift version

Hello Roythebus and welcome, I Can't help you with what is missing but the system works via a MOST fiber optic system, if you remove a piece of kit or it fails you must bypass the fiber connector to that item, looking at the item I have circled at the top of your picture should fit into the...

L322 02 Air Suspension inactive fault

Sorry not the LCD under the speedo but the big display in the middle, there is a screen that shows you the height of each wheel. What does that show?

L322 02 Air Suspension inactive fault

What does the dash display show? This will tell you what the ECU thinks the sensors are telling it. If one of the arms was off the sensor, the ECU will try to compensate and the sensor won't see the change, hence it pumping up the suspension to the wrong height.

    hand brake adjustment

Unfortunately there is no cable adjustment, you have to take rear wheels off, rotate the hub until the little rubber bung is on the bottom, pull out the bung and insert a flat head screw driver in the hole, there is a cog you can rotate to expand or contract the brake shoes. Rave describes the...

    2006 RRS 2.7 tdv6 gearbox help please

I believe it is fuse No 37, if present remove it, you would get a message on the LCD display advising 'TRANSFERBOX NEUTRAL' if the fuse is inserted.

    Hand brake question

8 clicks is what I believe Rave to state, I had it all set nice 2 years/7k miles, can't believe it has gone bad so quick. I guess we will see if we can get it to hold again 12 months.

    Hand brake question

Well the little adjustment I managed to make kept the tester happy and I got my cert this afternoon so probably don't need to worry about it until next year. Thanks for the input

    Hand brake question

I did but 8 turns off from fully on does not give sufficient hold on the hand brake so something is wrong somewhere.

    Hand brake question

Thanks both for your input, I'll see what the tester thinks tomorrow, maybe need to rebuild it all again and change the other cable.

    Hand brake question

Yup, I did that and booked it in for a retest but I suspect it won't be enough. On five clicks on the hand brake handle, close to the top it will hold the car in drive if you push the accelerator and hold it on our steep drive but it certainly isn't as good as two years ago when I replaced the...

    Hand brake question

Thanks Backinblack When you say adjusting inside the drum, do you mean rotating the adjuster through the hole in the disk at 6 o'clock? I didn't think there was any other adjustment inside, I put a new fitting kit on it when I replaced the drum shoes. Thanks
