    Why won't windscreen wipers work?

    Ok, my R reg Defender is showing it's age! The windscreen wipers have been playing up, lost the ability for intermittent wipe, then stopped working altogether. I changed the fuse but it blew again after a few pathetic wipes. I was advised to squirt the wiper pillars with WD40 so I've done that...
