The fob I had the battery was sealed into the unit it came with so it’s unlikely to fall out but I’m no auto electrics expert or mechanic by any means (I just tinker lol) .

I paid £195 for a new key to be programmed for our RangeRover Sport so that looks like a sensible quote to me .

This is dead easy to swap over to new casing. Just have the new one open and ready to drop the internals into it (make sure it’s lined up correctly before you snap it shut though.

I love Landrover ! I have just sold my 97 defender 90 (due to a illness diagnosis) and bought a more comfortable 57 plate Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE which I got for good money . Everything about it is great except it has a really annoying squeling noise from a cold start !! Only lasts about 30 seconds...
