    Leaking cylinder?

Do I then resume bleeding after the leaving something on the pedal all night? Yeah I will see what difference changing flexi pipe makes as there is obviously a reason that this cylinder is not holding a vaccum, thanks for the reply gents

    Leaking cylinder?

So I'm getting near to the end with my land rover finally! After renewing the whole braking system I decided to purchase a vaccum pump to ease bleeding, I found I only had to crack the bleeder valve 1/4 of a turn and no more otherwise air entered through the threads. Upon trying the brakes I...

So I finished rebuilding and painting the fairey freewheeling hub, found this bit at the bottom of the bag as it was disassembled, does this go inside it? Looks just like a castle pinion nut

    Brake adjustment

Also thank you all very much for the replies. Fingers crossed this adjustment is the last one needed. Ive had a ****storm with these brakes from the start. After this is done i just need to fit seats and adjust the handbrake and my land rover should be road worthy at long last

    Brake adjustment

Cant remember if the shoes are chamfered. 100% springs are fitted correctly. Annoyingly my jack is at work so i will have to continue adjusting the brakes next weekend. Is there a standard limit where the pedal should be located on the master cylinder rod ?

    Brake adjustment

Ssurely they shouldn't be so tight to the drum that I can't even push the vehicle in neutral though right? Don't get me wrong the brakes work well when they are like this

    Brake adjustment

So after removing and replacing the pads I trimmed down ( doh) I am back to this situation. All pipes have been replaced, all cylinders. Pads springs and drums. Wheel adjusters are on the lowest setting. System was bled + new fluid. Pedal seemed very hard/very little travel. Was binding...

Thanks for the responses guys, yes that is the exact one I mean I did pay 12.00 for it and the guy said it would fit. I have just ordered the bearmach one so it will be interesting to give them a side by side comparison. I get a horrible feeling I'm going to have to replace the shoes that I...

Hard brake pedal after rebuild ?

Today i tried adjusting the nuts and couldnt find an area where there was any free play. Just solid pressure. Its almost like the nut needs to be able to screw further back. With the series 3 is there any differences in rod length/ the amount of rod thread within the cv and cb type master cylinder ?

Hard brake pedal after rebuild ?

I am going to start from scratch, are you sure i don't need to have no pressure in the lines before doing this as it feels like there is tons of force on the rod and no free play wherever i move the nuts. Annoyingly my workshop is 10 miles away with no signal when im there so its a proper ball...

You can now see some of the thread where it starts on the rod, so I moved the nuts say 10mm
