Tow bar extender for bike rack

I'd like to avoid that, for cosmetic reasons, I'll have to search further...

Tow bar extender for bike rack

I was thinking that too, particularly as the bikes are e-bikes as well. The bike rack works in the same way; with a lever the ball gets clamped. Curious if anyone has axctually used a solution like this and what are the experiences...

Tow bar extender for bike rack

Some 3 years later and still enjoying my S3 88" Station. So much so I'd like to take it out more for trips with a couple of bikes on a bike rack. Thing is, the tow-ball is far too close to the rear door; it should be another 25cm/10" further out so i can mount the rack and the handlebars of the...

Bonnet (or hood, depending where you are...) lock?

Great solution, but I'll still forgo on it. As mentioned, I don't want to meddle with the looks, so no drilling holes and/or adding padlocks. Cheers anyway.

Bonnet (or hood, depending where you are...) lock?

Nice suggestion, but I'll leave it; I quite like the hasp on the passenger's storage compartment and don't want to meddle with the looks too much. Will be going with Tottot's suggestion of just shortning the latch's lever itself so it needs a tool to be opend that'll keep in the cabin itself.

Bonnet (or hood, depending where you are...) lock?

Bit late in replying - sorry. Spare is already on the bonnet, doesn;t even deter me (and I'm not exactly a Schwarzenegger ;)

Bonnet (or hood, depending where you are...) lock?

Sorry for belated reply; that is an excellent and elegant suggestion that doesn't harm its original looks. Will try to find the same original latch so can be restored to original.

Bonnet (or hood, depending where you are...) lock?

Hi, I've got my wonderful Series III and really happy with it but I'm getting a little paranoid with regards to it being stolen. The doors can easily opened with just about any key that roughly approximates the original key and the bonnet can be opened by anyone, making theft or joy-riding easy...

Newbie! SIII - 88"- Station wagon - petrol - RHD

Hi John, seems to me that the blue may be the original colour of the hard top; in this thread I posted a photo in reply to Rubins4 comment in this thread.

@ Checked several places, the blue paint looks to be original, so no need to go lime for originality's sake. Here's a picture (pretty bad picture actually, sorry, but you get the idea). [/GALLERY] Actually quite like the colour as it is.

    Great being here!

I believe it's also known as a "safari" roof. It consist of double roof panels, one pretty much as normal, the second one is indeed a couple of centimeters over the roof itself. The idea is that the outer panel can easily heat up but the heat doesn't transfer to the inner roof, so it doesn't get...

Newbie! SIII - 88"- Station wagon - petrol - RHD

I'm traveling now, but once home this weekend, I'll check if the hard-top parts have been resprayed in a different colour. Will let you all know of course, with pics.

Thanks John, I wasn't aware that the whole hard top should be lime. That may be a longer time coming; I want to avoid the as-new look, it's a 40+ year old vehicle, so some natural aging is actually nice. As the wheel arches are the exact same colour as the body, I suspect the car was repainted...

    Great being here!

Your suggestion reminded me of the Kinks' Lola: met her in a club down in old Soho Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like Coca Cola C-O-L-A Cola She walked up to me and she asked me to dance I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said, "Lola" L-O-L-A Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola...

Nice, Does have a very musical ring to it; small disadvantage, try saying that quickly after a couple of beers!;)
