    Disco 3/LR3 EAS problems

Finally back on the road with the Atlantic British OME 2" lift heavy-duty coil spring conversion. With the difficulty getting parts I decided this was the best move. I will stick with EAS on the LR4 and start building the LR3 for some of the overland adventures I have planned. Thanks for the...

    Disco 3/LR3 EAS problems

I am still on the fence. I had a thought this evening, clutching at straws maybe, but at this point, anything is worth exploring. When I removed the exhaust valve on the new hitachi style compressor, the chamber was blackened. I attempted to remove the valve on the old compressor and ended up...

    Disco 3/LR3 EAS problems

I am giving serious thought to doing a coil spring conversion using the Atlantic British (US) kit with HD 2" lift and Old Man Emu springs. With having to order stuff from outside Canada and the likelihood that when I have sorted this out I will still have a number of other EAS timebombs it is...

    Disco 3/LR3 EAS problems

I had to step away for a couple of days to deal with other stuff and save my sanity. I am now triggering an exhaust valve general fault. I will persevere this weekend even though it is sorely testing my plan for 'dry' January lol. That must have been quite the experience having the opportunity...

    Disco 3/LR3 EAS problems

I had seen the new price and decided used would work well for me if needed. If I can patch things up I will leave well alone until it fails. I read the convoluted process to program the ECM. Who would have thought.... I have just had a PM from the original poster and his symptoms were...

    Disco 3/LR3 EAS problems

Well Gary, I think I may be on the right track finally. Yesterday I verified that the earth and power to the control module were good and spent some time searching on the other forum you mentioned. I had looked before but not specific to the control module. I found a post that suggested adding a...

    Disco 3/LR3 EAS problems

Hi mate, the saga continues. One thing I have noticed is when I remove and replace things the suspension behaves differently. Yesterday the exhaust valve was running pretty consistently with only a couple of minutes in-between. Today not so much. I got the suspension up to standard and did a...

    Disco 3 (LR3) The D3 4.4 V8 thread

Having only driven the V8, I can't compare against the diesel version. The 4.4 is certainly a nice engine with no common faults if well maintained. I will resist the temptation to modify the exhaust. The 5.0 petrol V8 is the only option we had in the 4 until 2014. It can really shift and the...

    Disco 3/LR3 EAS problems

I am just getting set up to have another go today and appreciate all of the effort Gary. I have a few new areas to target. I will upload piccies later. It will help me keep track. I have just been into the garage to fire up the radiant heater. It dipped to -11c overnight and will be getting...

    Disco 3/LR3 EAS problems

Thanks for the support Gary. I will go back to the ECU tomorrow and recheck everything and remove/replace the ground connections in the footwell. I have not checked the wiring connector by the drivers side rear wheel. Will do first thing. Do you have a location for the front connector? I can't...

    Disco 3/LR3 EAS problems

Another day with a few false starts but no resolution. No writing on the solenoid and on the LHD model it is on the driver side A-pillar. I did manage to raise the suspension, but the exhaust vent solenoid is powering up at 3.7 - 3.9v. When driving I can see the exhaust valve open at 100% for...

    Disco 3/LR3 EAS problems

Late home from work, but managed to get an hour in the garage and made some progress in the right direction hopefully. I am feeling more confident that this is an electrical issue. If I am correct in thinking the pilot exhaust valve is triggered by a ground signal this is what I have found: 1...

    Disco 3/LR3 EAS problems

I will test for a stray current. This could account for the solenoid being live but with insufficient voltage to open fully. I really appreciate all of the help and a PM to the full workshop manual would be appreciated. I may already have it as I did download one previously, but I am not sure it...

    Disco 3/LR3 EAS problems

I didn't think to check what % the exhaust valve is opening. I will do so the next time. I will also check the earths. I think I read that the solenoid is sent an earth signal to trigger the exhaust. It does seem like it is an electrical fault.

    Disco 3/LR3 EAS problems

Which is the gallery pipe? Is there a test for the pressure sensor? I will take some screenshots tomorrow evening.

    Disco 3/LR3 EAS problems

No audible or visible air leaks. I am familiar with the normal hiss from the compressor. It is not doing this. The solenoid is being fed a small signal not sufficient to open it fully. I have tested this with the solenoid from the old pump removed so I can see what is happening. When you hear...
