    Yipee, Bought a P38 4.6 HSE on Friday....Got it cheaper than the wreck in Manchester, V reg and in much better shape... The V8 pulls like a train, what a noise it makes.....MINT!!! The RR really is a great piece of kit, looking forward to owning a RR for the rest of my days now..

    Rattle on tickover

    The catalyst can come loose inside the housing and it would cause a rattle. You can hear it if you bang the outside of the housing with your hand. If it is still in place then it does work on the gasses passing through the exhaust. The problem occurs when the honeycomb is so badly damaged...

    Hi Mike, It may also suggest that the O/S wheel has a camber issue which can also cause edge wear, new to Land Rovers but I have seen this on other cars. I would have a good look over the suspension just to make sure nothing is bent, although it may be difficult to tell. B

    Not sure if this is any help, but is there maybe an intermittant wiring fault between the alternator and the battery? I'm sure you've checked the wiring, it's the only thing I can think of. Sorry!!

    Sounds right to me, Ford done the same thing years ago on the clutch cable at the gearbox of the 1.8 Diesel. It was supposed to cut down the vibration that ran through the clutch... Well done guys... B
