Central locking, alarm and no start issues

Just had a look at the ECU, loads of numbers on it, they are, A0016, 2612, NNW000120, NNW500900, 3A790739. Took the lid off out of interest, circuit board looks clean, however on the row of voltage regulators( well they look like voltage regulators) ther is some aluminium corrosion between the...

Central locking, alarm and no start issues

Sorry, weather's been a bit **** and the car is outside. Its a Eu3 engine no idea yet what the ecu p/n is

Central locking, alarm and no start issues

OK, I just tried an experiment. You said that if the sensor is faulty, the ECU reads the fuel temp instead? I disconnected the coolant sensor cable and connected it to the old sensor in a cup of warm water. From cold the hawkeye live data read 38degc, Plugged it back into the one still on the...

Central locking, alarm and no start issues

Callrova had it with the BCU to check that they worked together but didn't report any issues with it. Would a Nanocom be able to reset it rather than the Hawkeye?

Central locking, alarm and no start issues

OK, it's showing 3.6k with the replacement at 10 degrees, the old one was 2.6k. Changed it, still can't clear the fault. I've looked at the wiring diagram and it shows the connections to the ECU plug c0158 on pins 7 and 18. I've checked back from there,I've got continuity of 0.1 ohm on each...

Central locking, alarm and no start issues

Right, new RF reciever fitted, BCU back from callrova and we have started! The only issue I have now is that there are 2 persistent faults showing on the ECU, 3018 coolant high temp and 3034 coolant temp fault active. My hawkeye is reading a coolant temp that is steadily rising whilst the engine...

Central locking, alarm and no start issues

OK, that's saved me going down a blind alley. Just been back to the RF unit and checked the pink line, nothing, zilch, Nada. I've checked a few fuses as the drawing seems to show a few to go at but I've not found anything blown. Can you confirm which ones I should be looking at? Thank...

Central locking, alarm and no start issues

I've been digging around and looking at the circuit diagram. There are 2 connections on the reciever, a live from the BCU and an earth. Now if the reciever is to be available at all times to recieve a signal from the key ,the signal or live wire and the earth need to be connected at all times...

Central locking, alarm and no start issues

Yeh, it's times like this that you realise that your V5 wasn't where you thought it was. I'm hoping I won't need it though. I had a look at the receiver and there was some corrosion on the earth tab and on the circuit board. Cleaned up but made no difference, new one due about Tuesday

Central locking, alarm and no start issues

Hi, The D2 has been sat in the drive for about a month . Came to start it yesterday, first I couldn't open it on the fob ,then as soon as I put the key in the ignition the alarm went off and the starter won't turn. I can shut off the alarm by putting the key in the door and turning but as soon...

    Rough start

Seems i do 4 tries at minus 2 yesterday, first try this morning with a new relay. If i followed the advice on here id be down 60 quid, 2 hours and several scraped knuckles

It would work but im not sure the socket contacts would thank you for trying to make/break 50+amps across them?

    Rough start

You logic is somewhat flawed. The car starts perfectly if i force yhe plug relay on for longer, if i had issues with battery voltage the problem would get worse in this case

    Rough start

Im not so sure, they have done 1500miles, were a good make, the £14 pound ones not your 4 for a tenner. The resistance is exactly the same for each, if there was one or two that were slightly different then id agree. Anyway, running at 0.5ohm would mean that they would run twice as hot as one at...

    Rough start

Well now the cold weather is back, so is my rough start issue. Ive checked the resistance of each plug, 0.5ohm. I get 11.5v on each plug so ive got a 1v drop from the battery. If i plug in Hawkeye and force the glowplug relay in for about twice the normal time it runs fine. The coolant sensor...

    Rough start

Why would I disconnect them? its already running rough on cold start Ok, when i got home, just as an experiment, i swapped the glow plug relay and tried to start. All issues had gone, however it has warmed up a little in the padt couple of days. Should really have checked the voltage at the...
