That’s probably what it was! The new one is in and the rebuild continues tomorrow!

It is weird isn’t it! I spoke to my local Land Rover man yesterday, who told me the camshaft is held in place once the camshaft timing gear is bolted on - makes sense, my confusion is that the original didn’t slide back!
