    Wanted Range Rover 4.2 Supercharged

Timing chains are fine on the 4.2 it’s the bmw v8 and earlier jag 5.0 that had issues. Long as it’s had oil changes it’s fine. Gearbox is the zf6 speed so yeah service it.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Gave mine a quick wash, polish and Autoglym rapid ceramic spray, made it look tons better after it was covered in mud from clay shooting earlier in the week.

L322 Leaking water in rear pillar

Good luck. It can be a pain but once sorted it’s worth it, saves electrics getting wet each time it rains. The joys of RR ownership, I’m going away Monday and my 06 4.2S/C has decided to have the rear drivers caliper seize, I knew the passenger one wasn’t great so it’s reluctantly staying at...

L322 Leaking water in rear pillar

Double check tail gate hinges, I had to do mine a couple of times, they need to be clean and sealed all round and inside otherwise water still gets in.

L322 Safe jacking rear -sills too rusted to support

I will say iv jacked under the lower arm when my 3 ton jack wasn’t long enough to go right under, I tend to put the jack in the recess where the air bag bolt goes, it’s never moved and all it’s does it get the suspension to try and self level but that all sorts out when let down again.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Gave mine a good clean after all that salt on roads and changed drop links as they started to knock then went and collected a mondeo estate so that’s now the work car and the supercharged Rangie is the weekend / other half’s car now, helps keep miles down on it not using for work.

L322 Wheel bearing or something else

That was one of the first things I did was test temp but no noticeable difference. I am going to order a new ball joint as I recall the noise started after that and read a few posts that say ball joints can make odd noises. Even though it’s new doesn’t mean it’s a good part.

L322 Wheel bearing or something else

Think I’ll change the drivers side bearing and take it from there. Definitely sounds front end and can be felt through steering but only when Turing.

L322 Wheel bearing or something else

Could you feel the bearing through steering? Mine can be felt slightly through wheel when turning right.

L322 Wheel bearing or something else

“Long motorway corners” that’s where I hear mine or roundabouts taken quicker, as in big roundabouts, not min ones… not trying to handbrake it round them 🤣. Another is motorway slips with right hand bend. As I say very slight straight ahead but louder going right, also seems worse on certain...

L322 Wheel bearing or something else

May have to try that again, like I say I tried it with me in passenger seat and other half and then swapped over and all she said was “can’t hear anything” both me and mechanic think front passenger side but as you say sometimes depending on where you look can here it.

L322 Wheel bearing or something else

That’s why we started with passenger side as the noise is when turning right so weight transfer to left, no change. We’ve not ruled out driveshafts but obviously start cheapest, but the feel nice, solid and tight no clicks, clunks or bangs. Doesn’t sound like a diff as it’s only when turning and...

L322 Wheel bearing or something else

Could you hear yours through the car or able to say front or rear? Mine definitely sounds front but sometimes it’s hard to pinpoint, iv asked the other half who’s reply was “I can’t hear anything “ 🙄.

L322 Wheel bearing or something else

Hi everybody, having a bit of a issue with my l322, had for the past couple of thousand miles what sounds like a wheel bearing noise (at first we thought tyres but have rotated them with no change), slightly when going straight but most when turning right, especially on quicker roads say 40mph...

    L322 L322 '03; Completely new to Landy's, so a couple of questions

Wheel nuts are 22, sometimes 23 if the chrome caps have corroded they expand, iv always just put full new nut set on then you know it’s all 22mm. Sticky key sounds like ignition barrel, common issue on the pre 07 with the key down on centre console but still can happen on later, normally muck...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Did my drivers side lower arm (the bent/ twisted one) on my 4.2sc, also ball Joint, did the passenger side a while ago and was a pain but not to bad, this side though, one bolt came out other rounded - stupid torx, then after getting it moving with chisel got that out, ball joint wouldn’t budge...

    L322 issues

Also if I recall the brake switches have two contacts, one direct to brake lights and another for ecus, my x5 had bad switch and even though brake lights worked the ecu contact had failed.

    L322 issues

Surprising what happens, probably because all systems talk to each other so dodgy signal from one sends the rest into meltdown. Goes to show though why sometimes it looks bad but really dodgy sensor or like you say switch.

    L322 issues

Same as me, worthwhile cheap accessory.
