    Thanks for the response, she’s going back in on Thursday to have the fault diagnosed and resolved! From the video sent through from the garage there is quite a bit of oil so suspect an issue with the breather system based on the technician initial thoughts and yours. Will post update when sorted.

    It did have paddles but forgot to use these to check the gears when on the test drive....there’s always something you forget to do on these occasions!

    Can I just look for confirmation that the 4.4 TDV8 with the rotary gear selector is the 8 speed box?

    Thanks Marjon I will definitely be asking for details of fixes and invoices for works completed.....12 month warranty with the vehicle but I will be checking to see exactly what it covers before I agree to sign on the dotted line..

    So, quick update: 2012 L322 4.4 TDV8 Westminster- looked at and rejected (actually done 150k miles with service gaps of a couple of years and 40k+ miles when actually reviewing the docs myself)...interior not stood up to clear heavy use so it’s a no from me! 2010 L322 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography...

    Thanks Marjon, you are absolutely right, the detail of engine would help...They are both 4.4 TDV8’s and the price difference is only £1k (with the 2010 being the more expensive). My understanding is that as they both have the rising gear selection they are both 8 speed?? Both are L322 model vehicles
