    Another problematic horn...

I did use a second hand one, only one readily available...turns out that while all the connections on the coupler passed a continuity test, pins 3 and 4 did not pass a load test. Swapped pins 3 and 4 to the 1 and 2 position and I have a working horn now. Thanks for the help!

    Another problematic horn...

I have searched and read through many of the previous post on this issue...my horn does not sound when the buttons are pressed, although the horn does sound if I press the lock button with a door open, so I know the horn itself works. Here is what I have done and checked...I swapped the rotary...

    IRD or CV shaft...

I am going to replace the IRD, boss is letting me pull it in the shop for the weekend. I am still looking for helpful recommendations about the oil/grease coming from the propshaft front CV...can I just clean and grease it with good moly?

    IRD or CV shaft...

I have a feeling it is the IRD, but the noise and jerking seems to come more from the left front, rather than under my feet. The powertrain setup on these Freelanders is new to me, so I am not sure if I can lift one wheel and spin it to check the CV shaft, or if I have to lift both front tyres...

    IRD or CV shaft...

Also...the black oil/grease that oozed out of the front prop shaft front connection joint to the IRD...it smells like RTV silicone...should I just repack this, or is there something I should change while the propshaft is out?

    IRD or CV shaft...

Ok, so I bought a 2002 Freelander TD4 and she ran ok, but I knew I would have to replace the VDU at some point. It finally started getting real bad, knocking while turning, so I ordered the VDU from Bell. That evening leaving work I get a couple bangs and jerks, so I stop and take a look. Don't...

    Cleaning cylinder head ports...

Thanks for all the info, I did get all the parts off and cleaned. I haven't touched the ports yet, I will have to look up the Terra clean you suggested. I do have one of the BMW cyclonic oil seperators ordered to replace the breather filter, as well as an EGR bypass, figured if I had to order...

    Cleaning cylinder head ports...

Basically I am looking for ideas on how to clean the head ports and valves, while on the engine. I just purchased a 2002 Freelander TD4 with 112K miles on it. Accoding to the owner the vehicle was serviced at every interval. I was noticing a slight whistle, so I decided to check the turbo...
