taking the back brake plates off on my series 3 , for painting whilst doing brake pipes etc , is it possible to replace the 6 bolts that hold on the plate / stub axle to axle with A2 stainless ones?

ive a 1983 2.25petrol ,88, i think there may be a half shaft /diff bearing worn . in the rear, got vibration at approx 30mph . replaced prop , still same . ive a good front one , are they the same? mine has 24 spline halfshafts ,is the diff end of half shaft same for the pre 80/81 rover...
