    That's some sensible advice there, many thanks. I really wish they were nearer, it's a good 2.5 - 3 hrs drive to them, but so far I haven't found anyone locally offering similar services specialising in the KV6 who seem trustworthy. I guess though, if I'm thinking of spending big money, one day...

    Thanks. I know what you mean - that's why I was asking for any experiences of the company's work. The car in question is a "show car" and I'd like to keep the original engine if possible, but I'm wary of potential future problems if things aren't done right. Cheers, Cliff

    Thanks. Current thinking is that the knocking may be coming from the main bearings, so I've sent an oil sample off for analysis before delving much further. I guess I'm just looking at worse case scenario. Reading back my post I have to admit you do have a point! It'a genuine question though...
