Ha! we can go round that loop indefinitely! What was the intended purpose of the RF memory clear?

    P38A Key code lockout

Just plugged in the Nanocom, to get to RF fault page which displayed sole message "The BECM has received a valid radio code", Cleared Memory gave response "The key fob RF receivers status memory has been reset", after which radio code message reappeared. Outstation faults displayed 2 messages...

    P38A Key code lockout

Where are you going with this line of thought, O wise one? I would have thought having disconnected the battery, and connecting the +ve & -ve leads for a few seconds would have cleared any transient memory? How does one clear the RF memory?

    P38A Key code lockout

Good to hear that old school is best, I'm so likely to get fob wet whilst boating, given that I regularly use the truck as the launch vehicle. So, following your good advice, I'll keep both fobs in good working condition, but keep remote locking disabled.

...... But in this instance, battery was left connected (after use) overnight, to wake up to a scrambled BECM. Noted, your advice re fob, I've ordered a repair kit, but don't intend to enable the EKA. Prefer to leave it unlocked if Door Key action is iffy. Cheers.

    P38A Key code lockout

Hi @Grrrrrr , nope, green dot (V1?), but aerial disconnected as a result of earliest issue with WiFi extender. My fob buttons have disintegrated now, so quite happy turning key in lock, rather than spend out on new ones. Theft opportunities not an issue here, as we're up a disguised unmade...

    P38A Key code lockout

Hello Everyone, I'm very surprised to be contributing to this tread, one year on, but here I am. For the last 11 months, 2 weeks, my P38 has covered 1150 extra miles (now 98,387) with EKA and immobiliser disabled, access by key in lock that opens all locks (sometimes) and engine starting using...

    P38A Key code lockout

Hi, it's not necessary to connect it up to a windows laptop, I just found it easier to provide the power in that way (using the supplied USB to Nanocom specific port cable). See https://www.nanocom-diagnostics.com/downloads/preview/nanocom-evolution-quick-setup-guide for the instructions.

Great, that's my intended end game. Ah!, another thing learned, didn't try just the sync, assumed the worst. Cheers.

    P38A Key code lockout

@marjon and Gentlemen, I'm now the proud owner of a Nanocom Evolution for Motronic P38 kit, and a P38 that starts and runs! Hurrah! On receipt of Nanocom I followed https://www.nanocom-diagnostics.com/downloads/preview/nanocom-evolution-quick-setup-guide (included in Kit) connected to my...

    P38A Key code lockout

It's strange, but since interacting on this forum, I feel as though I should treat my truck (for that is how its used) with a bit more tlc. I've had it 4 years and it's paid for itself in boat launch/end of season retrieve fees in that time, and the only expense until now was 2 new tyres this...

    P38A Key code lockout

I've come to a similar conclusion, and have ordered a Nanocom. As to knowing how to use it, that will be next weeks entertainment.

    P38A Key code lockout

From my own experience of connect battery/enter EKA (no visual signs of key turn acknowledgement)/enter car/put key in ign/turn key to pos 3/receive message "ENGINE DISABLED PRESS REMOTE OR USE KEY CODE", pressing and holding FOB unlock for about 10 secs and then same for lock worked for me and...

    P38A Key code lockout

I now surmise that I wasn't superlocked as the rear doors can be opened from the inside? Ok, so without upsetting the neighbours, I can now (after disconnecting, reconnecting the battery, bonnet back down, all doors locked and waiting for the Lockout message to disappear) Entered my EKA code (no...

    P38A Key code lockout

That was a lot easier than expected, not the highest security aspect of the car!. The klaxon connection was under the engine bay fuse box, prise off the metal clip using flat blade screwdriver and then pull off the connector. Opening door (with battery now connected) set off the indicators and...

    P38A Key code lockout

Hi, yes, am waiting the 30 mins for message to clear. To avoid setting off alarm I've tried :- 1) Connect battery, wait 30 mins, enter EKA (no apparent indication of success or failure), open door = Alarm 2) Connect battery, wait 30 mins, enter EKA (no apparent indication of success or...

    P38A Key code lockout

Hi, was just about to order the Nanocom, so I thought I'd read the spec (to make sure I ordered the correct model) and came across "If the BeCM is Alarmed it will need to be unlocked by a specialist before any communication is possible. The Nanocom Evolution does not have the ability to unlock...

Brilliant, thanks for that clarity. I now see the Nanocom as my saviour (as well as the cake devouring @mozz smith!) Cake for you @Datatek?
