Hi all Quick question, on a 300tfi what is the electrical connection on top of the head for ? The one by the head bolts , as I’m guessing it’s a temp sensor but I was under the impression the sensor on the thermostat housing does the gauge on the dash ? Am I wrong Thanks

This is the exact same symptoms as I’ve just held on my 300 tdi , although mine split the coolant tank head gasket for sure I’d also say

That’s my suspicion Mr Glee , I’ve got a sniffer test coming so that’ll end any speculation, to be honest I’m pretty sure it’s the gasket which looks a fairly straight forward job so no real worries there , just finding the time to do it is more of an issue!!

Hi yea I filled it through the rad then the thermostat housing but there seems to be a constant stream of air bubbles even after running it for around 30 mins Cheers
