Project Wolf - 300tdi stuck injector help!!

Coke dam pic ! Thanks @v8250. Turners re conditioned a 3.5 V8 block and gas flowed the heads for me a couple of years ago and did a brilliant job and super nice to deal with. Ricard could not have been more helpful. If I cant shift this thing locally they would be my first port of call...

Project Wolf - 300tdi stuck injector help!!

Thanks guys. Tried the coke trick and left it overnight but still no joy this morning with the slide hammer / puller etc, etc. I fashioned a bridge puller with 1"x1.5" box but that didn't work either or rather it crushed my bridge puller before the injector budged. Some force applied with a bar...

Project Wolf - 300tdi stuck injector help!!

Anyone got any good ideas on how to remove a stuck 300tdi injector. I’ve been at it for three days (on and off!!) others came out easy enough but this one is stuck fast. Have wiggled it, sprayed it, wiggled it, left it, pulled it... you know the drill. Have also tried turning the retaining plate...

    Project Wolf D90 - Rally Suspension ?

Thanks. We might to a bit of a video diary and post bits as we go through the project taking it from a stock Wolf to crossing the line (hopefully) in Dakar in 2022. If we do I’ll post the link. Cheers

    Project Wolf D90 - Rally Suspension ?

Thanks @flat. All good tips. I agree the Wolf has a lot of great features as a base for this project. Solid platform which we will hopefully just tweak here and there to make better for the specific task in mind. Cheers

    Project Wolf D90 - Rally Suspension ?

Thanks @Hicap phill. All good tips. We will be entering the “race” group although we will no doubt be the enthusiastic amateurs at the back but it’s about doing the whole thing with my boys really. Think I’m zeroing I’m on the set up. Basically standard duty springs but spend the money in the...

    Project Wolf D90 - Rally Suspension ?

Thanks @neilly. I’ll give them both a call to box this in. I also spoke with Andy Sargeant yesterday who’s a bit of a Land Rover rally legend by all accounts (Look him up on YouTube) and what a super nice guy too. He couldn’t have been more keen to help. His thoughts for this sort of thing...

    Project Wolf D90 - Rally Suspension ?

    Project Wolf D90 - Rally Suspension ?

Thanks @300bhp/ton. I think we'll stick with the enthusiastic amateur part. i.e not 4K a corner part:( !! But I'll look at the things you suggested. I guess as with all these things it's about compromise. Ultimately we want a set up that will give a half decent decent ride and traction without...

    Project Wolf D90 - Rally Suspension ?

Hi all, looking for some thoughts, suggestions or guidance on who to speak to or where to look for setting up a 300tdi Defender 90 suspension to do the Intercontinental Rally (Old Paris Dakar Route) in Jan 2022. The base vehicle is a ex military Wolf Defender 90, internal roll cage...

    Wiper conundrum

Thanks All. Problem Solved !! The collective power of the similarly afflicted!! @tottot you were bang on the first time. I just didn't do it right. I just turned the rotor assembly 180 in the motor housing. Like that was ever going to work!! However, turns out there are two ways you can set the...

    Wiper conundrum

Haha!! You know what, I just drove to the shop to get more beer and on the way back I remembered on a series 3 I did a while back one wheel box is up and then other is down as the wipers swing in and out towards each other not left the right in parallel and I wondered exactly that. Have I fitted...

    Wiper conundrum

Still head scratching. Checked the book again and wiper motor, brush set and stop switch all only have one part number. No LHD or RHD option. You can of course get left or right wiper arms but how do you control the direction of the motor? Re built the whole damb truck and stuck on this !!

    Wiper conundrum

Hmmm. Tried that but still head scratching. Was rather hoping that was it but I reset the rotor wheel so it rests on the other side of the stop switch but wipers still come to rest at the top position when they are switched off!! Rotor wheel is spinning clockwise. Is that correct but then...

    Wiper conundrum

Haha, it certainly felt like that. A head scratcher for sure but sounds like I might to 180 out on the rotor. I’ll fiddle and report back

    Wiper conundrum

Brilliant. I’ll reset it and try again. Thanks
  17. L

    Wiper conundrum

Yeah but that won’t work because it returns to stop to the right rather than the left if you’re sitting in the cab if that makes sense.

    Wiper conundrum

I am just finishing off a Wheels up restoration of a 1986 90 V8. New brush set for the wiper motor arrived today which i was hoping would let me finish off and seal up the dash. Brush set fitted and motor works as you’d hope but for some reason when you turn the wipers off they return to the top...

Project Wolf - 300TDI Injector Pump. Military or Civilian?

Thanks. I had also heard the 300tdi was consider the last of the real "Fix in the field" engines due to the lack of electronics. Since posting the question I have learnt that the 7299 and 4419 are essentially exactly the same pump. The 7299 is a later model and may have some uprated internals...
