We've got a bad case of back to school blues in the house- from one of the teachers....

I just bought a bottle of Laphroaig select. Either I've got covid, or it's bland and uninspired. Not the kick in the face with a peat covered boot that I'd expect from leapfrog at all!

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Spent too long chasing a weird error on my fog lights. There is a problem in the wiring between the steering column and fuse box I can't understand. So am giving up and fitting a clearly labelled bodge at the fuse box it so it passes the MOT equivalent... I never use fog lights anyway, no fog here!

I have: Half a bottle of reasonable crement d'Alsace left A selection of old movies Rumbles of thunder that are not dropping any rain No idea why my fog light is not working, which is a minor MOT equivalent fail And an experiemental chocolate cake

    Hi from saaaarf London

Yup. Same here in France. Vehicles on ' collectors registration' are exempt from the emissions zones.... almost as if they're about money, not air quality.

15th of August is the feast of the assumption of Mary. Catholic coutries shut down... My wife has just spotted a 1960s Alpine Sunbeam for sale locally ( first hand..) and some how has fewer objections to tha the Landie...

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Fixed the front left indicator- and hopefully crimped the fitting tight enough it won't move again. Found a way to prop up my phone so I could video the rear lights.... now to figure out why the reverse and fog lights are not working!

If I were, I'd have a proper garage to work in, or even less believebly, a landrover not in need of fixing....

Pristine not an option... more like well used! And most of them have assorted lubricants and other fluids everywhere.... A bottle of DOT4 got a jack dropped on it and somewhat slightly exploded.

I was under the car doing wheel alignment bits, when a very attractive young woman lent right over and asked me if I wanted a hand..... Why couldn't things like this happen when I was single?

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Got the shims out of my universal joints, and removed the vertical play in them. Went to do the easy job of sticking the tie rod back on, and notices the treads on one of the ball joints have got terminally bashed somehow in the last few day, and the silly thing won't come out... bigger hammer...

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Managed to get the radius arms back on. Either it's a tough job, or my chassis isn't quite straight...

Hazard switch internal light won't work

I had one that did indeed become dodgy as it was reseated. I proved that by pulling half the dashboard apart, so it could see it go in from the top. The solution? Three layers of black electrical tape to bulk it up a bit, and now it is firmly in place without being fully flush, and it works...

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Pulled the radius arms off, and got them into the workshop for new bushes before the heat arrived. Then my wife interrupted me saying it was time to light the BBQ. EDIT: Post BBQ, got the old rubber/metal bushes out with much cursing, lubricant and hammering, cleaned it all up, stuck in the...

    TDV6 camshaft failure.

No, I'm not sure now.... It was a phone call, and it was mentioned in passing.

    TDV6 camshaft failure.

My father has a Disco 4, which has just blown up the second engine in two years. This one is being replaced under warranty by Land-rover, as it is the same failure as last time- the cam shaft. Is this a known issue, and are there easyish preventative measures? ( other than driving a proper...

    A Cracking Day!

Last time, I gave up and got the garage to do it. The senior mechanic said it had been a while since he'd done a windscreen rubber, and he was going to show the apprentice how it was done. It took four of us and a good half hour....

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Replaced the rear shock absorbers. Standard Landrover timings- 80% of the to get the old ones with seized bolts off, minutes to drop in new replacements.
