Hi rqd37 Yes the fuse board they replaced was the one under the steering wheel, was a bit of a gamble for me but it did work out ok. Might be a good idea to get someone to check the upward side of the circuits to see if all are ok and passing power on, before forking out some dosh. Mine looked...

If I remember rightly or wrongly, the feed to the back door has some link with the interior light working but I might be wrong. I seem to remember having that trouble when fitting a rear window mechanism years ago.

May be I'll try when the weather gets better only no where to work out the rain. How do you find out what parts to order, and where from? Problem is car is used every...

Sorry for not thanking everyone for their input back in the day, that was very wrong of me as I was very grateful for the input. Yes the issue was solved, took it to a local garage who said it could be a break in circuit in the fuse board. At the time a replacement fuse board was a cheaper...

Further update on previous problems. Day after Boxing, went out to check car for water getting in under the tarp with all the windows open and our rain and gales. Opened the car on drivers door key, central locking back working and everything else as well. Raised windows while I had the chance...

Hi Grumpy, checked with the wife she said I got it wrong. It wasn't condensation , it was rain on the outside of the window, and she couldn't see out to miss the car parked right up tight to our driveway. That's why she dropped both front windows. Is there anyway that rain could get in and onto...

Hippo The car was starting and driving with all the original posted problems. There was no physical immobiliser or alarm restrictions, but there was no indication either as to whether they were working or not when the car was locked. There were no normal flashing car side indicators or flashing...

Ok thanks Nodge for putting me straight on that one. I'll go back to my original theory then it could be a CCU fault, hopefully not to return. Cheers Philip

My only other thought was, could it be a driver's door lock problem affecting operation of the CCU due to it being the master, and initiating CCU operation. If it happens again, is it possible to bypass the drivers door lock, to initiate CCU operation? This could then identify the fault as...

Thanks Hippo for the heads up on code reader. UPDATE ON POST Went out to car and put key in drivers door as usual to unlock. Unwittingly left key in unlock position for longer than usual? All the lights and horn flashed like a Break In situation? Opened the door to insert key in ignition to...

Grumpy Going back to one of your earlier replies. If I disconnect the battery, doesn't the rear tailgate window drop and you have to bring it up using the dash switch, or have I got that wrong, or does it normally remain shut until you try to use it, then you have to recalibrate it? If I do...

Is there anyway I could check the CCU at home with just an ordinary electrical tester of is it down to specialist electronic equipment?

Freelander 1 Freelander 1 Major Electrical Problems : Urgent help needed Please

Oh I see. It could have been down to an intermittent fuel pump problem then as that was the second recovery problem repair? Now having it back for two weeks we are now into this!! Aaaaaah I have heard that a lot of normal garages using modern diagnostic electronics can't read 51 plate landy's...

Thanks Grumpy will also have a look. Re original amigo's fault - it was a wheel sensor. But cost me over £100 to get recovered from outside address , before the repair. Need a local Torbay Freelander 1 fault reader....able to read fault codes, to save on recovery every time.
