    Ball & Pin Tow Ball

The company I work for make tow bars, they sell a range of the hitches you are looking at - both Dixon Bate and Bradley brand, we stock those not make them. I know they aren't super cheap but you may be able to negotiate a bit of discount - sales side is nothing to with me! Pretty sure they only...

    Lockable bollard?

https://www.ant-supplies.uk/bits-and-bobs/blank-firing-alarm-mines.html Only designed to take short blanks but a bit of time and ingenuity.... I of course don't recommend modifying it any way!

    Low fuel light

If your landy has been stood for a while the sweeper may need removing and the contacts cleaning. Years ago I had an old vauxhall VX4/90 that had been stood for a while and always showed half a tank no matter how much petrol was in there. The sweeper can corrode and it 'sticks' in place, gently...

Bluetooth speaker in landy - anyone doing this?

find your local bunch of yoofs and ask them what they use! One lot by me have a speaker that plays loud and has good sound, they have crap choice in music though.

    Insurance for young drivers

My son is 21 and has his 110 csw with adrian flux. Interestingly his 1.4 corsa is insured on separate policy elsewhere, adrian flux were nowhere near his renewal quote, couldn't even get close!

    Newbie, needing some pointers

My lad has a 110 county and he can't get 2 mountain bikes in without taking wheels off them first. It's surprisingly awkward getting stuff through the back door.

    Halfords truck bed liner ine

How well does the bed liner stand up to road use? I want to paint the lowers on a pair of motorcycle forks and I need something that will last!

Freelander 1 'BEWARE OF WHAT YOU SPRAY ON CONNECTORS for all vehicles.

I frequently use brake and clutch cleaner for cleaning other parts but I only ever use electrical cleaner or wd40 on electrics. This is one of those "does what it says on the tin" occasions!

    No brake lights!

The reverse light packed in ages ago as did the handbrake light! We replaced the difflock switch last year, not sure what brand (it certainly wasn't in a blue packet), we got it from Craddock's - they are only 30 minutes or so drive from us.

    No brake lights!

Thanks for the tips, once I can get the keys I'll try jumping the switch and take it from there. The brake lights do work - I've seen them! Not the first time he has had problems, I'm pretty certain the switch is dying or has now died.

    No brake lights!

Got a bit of a problem with my lad's TD5 110 (not sure what year!), we have rear lights but no brake lights including the high level. It did pop the fuse which was changed, he found a test online to check one of the connections under the bonnet which gave continuity, checking the wires at the...

    Another Screw Question

Have you got a local fastener supplier? There is a small company near me who are brilliant at either matching or having something very close to whatever I've taken in (usually in various states of destruction) from either my Freelander, my lad's Defender or one of my bikes.

    Towing problem

The company I work for make tow bars and I definitely cut drop plates for a range of bars, I can ask the boss tomorrow if our drop plates are approved. I know all the new bars go through what @Avocet1 said, the rig has it's own special room in the works. Some of our newer bars (depending on the...

    The new defender!

I've been seeing these for months going up and down the A5 in the not at all disguised camo. Personally I quite like the evolution, although it does look like a bit of all current LR products thrown in a mixer. I will certainly never be in the position to buy one but then I wouldn't buy an 'old'...

Day Time Running Lights (DRL's) made easy... Part 1

When I had my Hayabusa one of my mods was a strip of led lights fitted around the air intakes either side of the headlamps - made it very noticeable. I had thought of something similar on my facelift freelander by fitting some under the headlamp and wiring them into the sidelights (how my 'busa...

    Landy Security Advice please?!

If you fancy a swap Kev, I'll take your bully and give you Bear, my alaskan malamute in exchange. He loves kids but as his nickname is asshat it should tell you what he's like! Please do not show my lad those train horns....

    Rear Door Hinges

Is the thread of the bolt coming far enough into the nut to bite into the nylon/plastic of the nyloc?

    Best door seals

My lad bought the ones in the dreaded blue bag, don't bother - they are rubbish! They fitted fairly easily but they are rock hard, making it a pain to close the doors and I'm not convinced they seal properly. It is something on the list to change so I'd interested in what success you have.
