Do you have pics of the setup. Some have a return line back to tank so as not to overpressure the float chambers if i remember. Are you sure its the overflow and not the return? You have just had your carbs redone, haven't you? J

Fing is the old fashioned (bi metallic) are not very accurate when they switch on/off and don’t carry much load. As you have electric underfloor you need to be careful as they may take load of the floor, do you have a central box/controller? We have digital stats they can switch at .5 degree...

Not sure it would fail on a loose shield unless the tester said "danger of falling off". Jubilees can be joined ;). J

Sounds to me like you simply dont have power to the coil in position 2. Cant tell what you are referring to in 1,2,or 3. as some have double spades. @mystery could help but a few more details of year engine would help him. Hes a wizz and loves electrics. J

If you have a towbar you can charge/supply12v which should be enough to open doors and stop alarm going off. Dont try to start it though. J
