    Trans failsafe prog!

:D:D:D:D They always blame problems on drinking & smoking went to see Doc about pain in my knee those were the first questions asked !!! The gov limits are ridiculous, thought they'd encourage drinking & smoking with the amount of tax raised:eek:. BTW I love a good pie :)

    Trans failsafe prog!

Have read the codes today and I got Gear Switch Fault, no number, after clearing it car now starting in Park. I think it's only a matter of time that the fault will return so will look into a switch rebuild or replacement. Thanks for the help with this problem it is greatly appreciated.

    Trans failsafe prog!

Yh I never wholeheartedly trust the reg check thing. But I know it was a big heavy thing, thought about using a block and tackle to get it in :). Had to get my lad to lift it in for me, it's an age thing so they keep telling me :(

    Trans failsafe prog!

I believe so I had to quote my reg to get the correct one. It's the same size as the old one with the same capacity.

    Trans failsafe prog!

I agree this is a problem that I want to sort asap as I can't trust the car 100% until it's sorted. I think it's ok to start the car in neutral as well as park, similar to a manual where the car can be started in neutral. My car comes up with the trans message only in park, so before starting...

    Trans failsafe prog!

Battery is new end of last year, alternator seems ok but haven't had it tested so not 100% sure but all seems ok. It starts really strong. I had an issue with the heater relay, it continued to run after switching off and drained the battery. At the start of the cold weather last year the...

    Trans failsafe prog!

For me this is a recent problem, along with others I've had, hence why I need to sort this asap. As the car starts and drives normally by selecting neutral before starting and the message is no longer displayed then there isn't a pressing problem but i would like to solve this issue before it...

    Trans failsafe prog!

Thanks for the info, looks interesting and scary lol. Does the switch suffer with internal corrosion due to water ingress or would it be the wiring plug which could be the problem. Once inside the switch, if I have the courage to take it apart, can it be repaired if damage is found? Thanks again

    Trans failsafe prog!

Hi just searched the forum for this fault and found this post. I have same issue, with the car in park I get the trans failsafe prog with no "P" on the display, car will start but seems to be in 3rd or 4th gear? If I switch off and select neutral "N" appears in the display car starts and drives...

I've only searched the net for problems relating to my car so haven't really spent much time looking around. Every search I've made, the information has always come from this forum. I'm slowly getting to grips with my car and sorting all the problems, the information within this forum has & is...

Think my car is in much better shape than me so selfies will be a no no lol. Haven't really took many pictures as I was a bit disappointed with the car due to the problems I've had with it. But I'm beginning to get things sorted slowly. Anyway it's just a standard hse in silver so nowt special...

L322 Steering angle sensor replacement - guide with pictures

I would like to thank the OP for this helpful advice. I've had problems with the steering angle sensor, today it has been resolved. I followed the above, buying a second hand unit and swapped out the slip ring to replace the one in mine which had the identical worn down terminal, this has done...
