How would I diagnose that? It’s possible. Very occasionally I find I need a second pump on the brake pedal after which it bites sooner. Running lean - perhaps. I did richen the mixture a bit but perhaps I’ll do it a bit more and then back off the idle.

Ok. Had the carb body off - nuts to manifold were barely finger tight. Also undid and checked the pump spring/ diagphram. Reassembled. It’s about 50% better on test driving. Still feel like it wants to stumble and stall on decel from 5-0 mph, but doesn’t always do so. Interesting new finding...

Ok. Had a look. Loose contact on the power wire aggravated by the up/ down motion of the indicator stalk. Construction was a copper rivet joining a contact to the switch body. It’s a fair question. My s3 will do 60, just ;-) My truck is matt green and people tend to be late seeing me at junctions on B roads etc. Seemed that a simple headlight upgrade might help.
