Hi All, I was given a set of 8 spoke white wheelers with new all terrain tyres for my series. I am wondering but if these were after market fitment in 1978. Anyone can help please?

No sorry. But they are all white with 8 spokes slightly wider than standard with mud terrain tyres on but not with the side thread as well. Seems period after market but not sure.

Yes the tyres are new. What I wanted to know if the white wheelers were in production in 1978.

    Series 3 2.3 diesel

Thanks. I have checked the pipe but the mesh filter is not existent. Have blown pressure air through pipe and its clear. As for the fuel level its half full and the hill is normal not so steep, in fact I was going up on fourth gear at around 40 miles. What I noticed is that when I accelerate...

Dear All especially Turboman who did his best to help me out. Today I managed to once again lift my series 3 to the original height. Have serviced the leaf springs whilst they were dismantled. I am truly surprised at the ride I now have, not harsh ss it was and best of all no noises. Really...

Hi, they are not worn and in perfect condition without any hint of rust. There is a technique which is used to lower the leaf springs. In fact I did mine under the guidance of an engineer. All I did is lower them and although i said they are on the bump stop I have an inch clearance. In fact if...

I have driven the vehicle with no problems. Considering our speed limit is 60 kms almost everywhere it did not make a difference. When passing a sleeping policeman I drive really slow. Actually I have an inch play to hit the bump stops. Also I deflated the tires to 25 psi with no probs but than...

Just took the springs out, drew them on the floor, than measured how much I needed to lower in my case it was 4 inches and flattened the springs to measure.Obviously you need to dismantle to separate the leafs.

Thanks. That is what I thought. I don't think is a big job, but to be honest I'm worried having it on the bump stops although as I said I always use it on tarmac roads or some green laneing. Anyway thanks for your time and advice much appreciated.

Thanks. Unfortunately I cannot do both, and as my Landrover was always garaged I don't wish to park it outside. What I meant is if I put a soft top instead, obviously I keep the present roof. The only other option is park it outside and use it as a daily driver. Taking into consideration our...

On a different note, can you please help me on another issue? I am moving house and my new garage is lower since it is a semi basement. Hence I had to lower my landy to fit it in and it came nearly resting on the bump stops. If I change from estate to soft top, is the height the same, as I am...
