How do you reduce the endfloat on 1st gear? Mine is around 10 thou. Is the wear normally on the mainshaft gear 591362 where it runs against the grooved thrust washer 576735? And ok to renew on its own? (you don't have to renew in pairs - mainshaft/layshaft?) thanks

Thanks all. The head has been on and off but with the manifolds and carb attached so the gaskets have not been done recently. I will do them in two weekends time and follow up on whether the problem duck has gone! Be nice if that's it.......
