Thanks Nodge68 I’ve been racking my 2 brain cells over this as I’ve done the usual, so start the engine and whilst ticking over loosen the engine side hose on the replacement stat and fill the expansion bottle ? Or do I leave the expansion cap on and only fill when it’s low ?

How do I bleed it ?

He told me this side faces the radiator

When it was hot and I checked the hoses the engine side was hot and the rad side was hot but before I left the house the engine side was hot and rad side cold,,, I had let it tick over for 10 minutes with rad cap off before going a run

Also cold bottom hose and fans didnt kick in

Hi everyone td4 2005 freelander, HELP ! OK TODAY I FITTED THE IN LINE THEMOSTAT HOUSING FROM SPECIALIST COMPONENTS, oops Sorry for shouting, fitting it was a breeze, took it for a run and 20 miles down the road I was well cooked ,so I turned of the heater blower and within a couple of minutes...

What vehicle are you fitting this on and Which thermostat did you order and from where? I’ve not ordered anything yet so I’m looking for recommendations. Mines is a freelander 1 2005 td4 2.0

This looks tidy, do I need any replacement pipes or is it just a straight fit?
