Thanks for your help, I am all done now. Until the next time that is.

    Reverse Light cable

I just linked both together and the diff lock light came on. Haven't seen where they connect to the transfer box, its not the original box anyways.

    Boost ring

I used one of those tiny ratchets from a kit I bought ages ago just for the tips. I had to put a ring spanner on it to get enough leverage but the tool worked perfectly.

    Reverse Light cable

There are two wires at the transfer box, neither connected. when I linked between the two to see what happened the diff lock tell came on.

    Reverse Light cable

The vehicle has had lots of bits and bobs over the years, I put a galvanised chassis on it 2 years ago. I am guessing the reverse light was never reconnected. I am pretty sure there are no other loose ends. Ran a new circuit today, works fine. Just took a fused live through the switch and to the...

    Reverse Light cable

I have checked just about everywhere, I don't understand it. The only cables that exit the loom in that area are the pair for the dash tell on four wheel drive.

    Reverse Light cable

Yes mate, a Defender. The plug in the engine bay is not the reverse light. Going to run a new circuit.

    Reverse Light cable

Thanks for the reply, the plan is to link out the connector at the loom and see if the reverse light comes on. If that fails I am going to have to wire it myself. Obviously this is simple electrically just a bit of a bitch to get to, would be really easy with a £5 lead.

    Reverse Light cable

I have a 1994 300tdi and the cable is missing from the loom to the switch on the gearbox. There is a two pin plug on the switch end and there is a spare? two pin plug in the engine bay on the loom. I assume there is a link lead to go between the two? Does anyone know what this is called? I can't...

    Chassis swap on a 300tdi

I am on a deadline I am afraid, On the 26th of Feb I will be driving the beast 860 miles over 3 days to go to my day job in the south of France. Once there she does 300 miles a week for 10 months towing a boat. Its no easy life for my old girl. I allowed myself a month to do the job and I am now...

    Chassis swap on a 300tdi

Its been a while since I have been on here (to busy with this chassis swap) to give an update. The job is still fighting me all the way. Reading some of the above comments has made me feel a little better as I was coming to the conclusion I have been to fussy maybe. Expecting everything to just...

    Chassis swap on a 300tdi

Well, after a full day of adjusting this and that, the 18mm packers went in and the door gaps are far more agreeable.

    Chassis swap on a 300tdi

Yes, thats the issue, I have had some 18mm plates made to fill the gap. This has put doubt in my mind about other dimensions, how accurate is the rest of the chassis?

    Chassis swap on a 300tdi

    Chassis swap on a 300tdi

Its real pain for a first timer, i thought the chassis would be more accurate. all the UTube stuff I have watched seemed real easy, have these guys been paid?

    Chassis swap on a 300tdi

The tub is inside the chassis fixings above the cross memebr

    Chassis swap on a 300tdi

I have a gap of about 18mm between the tub and bracket, the tub fixing is to far forward. of course the back tub fixings are in the correct place above the cross member.
