Fitted some Insa Turbo AT’s, LED sidelights, wiper’s, retainer clips for the front grille, rubber matting from rear to under 2nd row seats (previous owner had ply board down) and installed a dash cam. Basic’s sorted, chassis clean and re-treatment next…

Absolutely. Saw so many rot box's that I was convinced I'd have to break my budget to get one. Luckily past two owners were enthusiasts :)

Yes after searching threads on here I believe you're correct. Looks like it's had a new RF reciever and may be the fob that's the problem as there's movement inside it. Will sort a new one and get the spare re-coded as well.

Yes the rust free examples are going for silly money and just beyond my budget. But I have found one very clean example locally that was kept in a barn and has done about 5000miles the past few years and is only on 119K. Only issue that's cropped up is owner has had to use EKA code after fitting...

Just having a nosey and seeing what's what after being AWOL for a few years. Had to sell my 300TDi Disco due to divorce/relocation, but am now realising that my 200bhp Civic, although a great/reliable car, does not give me the satisfaction I had with the Disco. So back on here to gain some info...

Don't understand the knocking of gasless mig's, yes they give more splatter and are more expensive to run BUT given a windy location i.e. Snowdonia without a garage/shelter, then that method comes into it's own. Time & patience still gives a decent weld in conditions most welders would not...

Glad I'm not the only one, my boys decided to surprise me and help me out by cleaning the Disco a couple of years ago ... needless to say she ain't scratch free any more! I just see it as their stamp on what they call dad's awesome car, because it takes them places mum's Golf ain't got a hope of...

Possibly fuel lift pump on it's way out?? About £20 for a new one.

Air in system? Were any coolant system hoses removed when cambelt was done? Possibly bleed the coolant system then see if there's any change...

Stand your ground with the insurers. Our 1st disco had a suspected bent chassis and insurers tried to write her off, they backed off once I got a local indy to check the chassis's geometry, and then paid out to repair her.
