Disco 2 Air Suspension, pumped up through the roof

Hi all '03 TD5 D2 I loaded the car up yesterday ready for a tip run today, a fair weight, but nothing like I've had in it before. I got to the tip this morning and immediately noticed that my r/n/s suspension was pumped right up...like right up (o/s is normal ride height) I've unloaded and tried...

Disco 2 "Death wobble" and I think it's my fault

Head's in my hands now. Just spoken to the Land Rover trained Inde I've taken it to. He's replaced a slack wheel bearing (which had got through MoT last week...so it wasn't that bad), but that's made no difference to the wobble. This is increasingly looking like I'm going to have to bite the...

Disco 2 "Death wobble" and I think it's my fault

@NPG ...I think what I've learned from this is that perhaps the whole Covid thing has stressed me out in ways I hadn't recognised. Of course the tracking being out (and the garage not having done sufficient checks to minimise that risk) makes complete sense now, but no...I jumped straight to...

Disco 2 "Death wobble" and I think it's my fault

Thanks both :)..perhaps do I need to be a little less hard on myself. o_O I've been on the blower to a local Inde and LR dealership this morning and both are suggesting that the new parts may be exaggerating what was previously an underlying issue that was hidden by the 17yr old slack in the...

Disco 2 "Death wobble" and I think it's my fault

Okay, this is hard to admit but here goes: ...all four of the small trailing-arm to chassis bushes on my '03 D2 TD5 were feathering slightly, but ride was good with no issues apart from a 'clunk' coming from just behind the driver's seat when hitting anything pot-holey at slow speed. I thought...

    Disco 2 Kangaroo juice

Oh you are kidding me! Okay, if it goes back together and still misbehaving I'll be checking the...brake switch next!! These things are...unpredictable. Thanks Sierrafery

    Disco 2 Kangaroo juice

I have to *really* slip the clutch to avoid it. Reverse I would say slightly worse than 1st...really, really annoying.

    Disco 2 Kangaroo juice

Hi All So, I've a Disco 2 facelift, '03 TD5 manual. This time last year I had a new Valeo clutch, DMF and gubbins fitted and all was rosy. Jump to Jan this year and the old girl starts to kangaroo in 1st and reverse...and I really can't stick that. So I've biten the bullet and accepted that it's...

Other what have u done on ur disco today

Did some maths: Veh: Manual '03 D2 Trip: N.Yorks to Falmouth return Southbound, on Supermarket fuel: 417 miles, 62.18 litres = 30.49mpg Northbound, on Shell V-Power fuel: 417miles, 59.55 litres = 31.83mpg

Other what have u done on ur disco today

Just picked her up from having four ball joints (Lemforder) and shocks replaced. Both TF front shocks completely US after 15mths use and at the rear, R/O/S shock top bush just fell out when removed (which explained a hefty knock that I couldn't track down because I hadn't believed it could be...

Disco 2 I'm an idiot, second opinion please (harness mis-match)

Stanley...thanks for that. I've looked at the manifold today and can see no evidence of gas leakage or stud damage, but WD once again worked on the alternator pulley...so I'm going to focus there. Re the ECU, yes, when I replaced the harness I also cleaned the red plug and popped the lid off the...

Disco 2 I'm an idiot, second opinion please (harness mis-match)

Nope, sadly wastegate appears to be fiiiine. So, still thinking fuel pump as possiblility for that. Manifold...Oh! I very scientifically dumped a load of WD40 onto my alternator pulley this morning (i.e. test them one at a time I thought) and was treated by some very pleasurable silence for an...

Disco 2 I'm an idiot, second opinion please (harness mis-match)

Stanley Thank you!!! I've been thinking about the waste gate so will check that during first parade tomorrow. This morning, thinking about the EGR, I pulled out the MAP, which was ...as clean as a clean thing. However, I also remembered a couple of months ago putting Hawkeye on and finding two...

So the only code I get on EMS is a 3141 'Driver demand fault' [seems a little harsh, I just wanted it go go up the hill :(]. Will try your suggestions tomoz. Thanks again H

Disco 2 I'm an idiot, second opinion please (harness mis-match)

Oh, what am I talking about, it's not 'standard'...It's had a tune from ...Oh Christ I've forgotten his name now...Dave? Transformed it into a dream to drive, and I would really feel wrong to suggest the stutter is anything to do with the tune.

Disco 2 I'm an idiot, second opinion please (harness mis-match)

Thanks SF. I haven't checked for fault codes yet (trying my best to reduce likelihood of domestic by just focussing on 'holiday'), but will now do so tomoz and come back. It's a '03 facelift with no CDL, EGR still on, Cat still on...it's a very tidy example of standard. If that helps? H

Disco 2 I'm an idiot, second opinion please (harness mis-match)

Hi Chaps So, I have a Disco 2 TD5 with >134k miles. Two years ago I fitted a new injector harness, but didnt tell the ECU (coz I didnt have diagnostics). Since then, I've had no trouble at all with normal driving, but if I go over 3k revs, there's been a stutter. I am an advanced trained driver...

New clutch (etc.)...Oh I'm very pleased, she's driving beautifully. + new clock bulb, new side repeaters. The little things just add to my feeling of chuftness. Didn't get rid of that intermittent fan-belt squeal though...what the Hell's causing it I don't know?

Other what have u done on ur disco today

I finally put my multimeter to work on the contact wires for my dashboard clock...and to my surprise got a respectable reading of 11.35 volts. I was surprised, because when I originally got the Disco I thought that I'd checked and found that the bulb was okay, so for the last 2.5yrs I've...
