Defender garage / parts installer - Peak District

DLS in Wirksworth have a workshop, not far from Matlock bath, or it may be worth speaking to someone at paddocks, i know they're a parts supplier, but they may offer up the details of some local landrover specialists. Good luck with the conversion too

    D2 G4 advice

I have had one of these, it was on the v5 as a gs. It only has small g4 stickers on the front wing, not the large one on rear quarter. Inside has black vinyl seats (sure they are called modus design). Outside they have large roof rails, soft A bar and front & rear light guards.

Another flashing M&S light issue - sorry

I had this '"feature" on mine, it only occurred in or after driving in wet conditions. Removed the gearbox loom and it was rubbing on the sharp front corner of the T box, repaired the loom and has been fine since.

    ECU testing.

I have got an icarsoft cr elite, it is a handy tool, I have used it to reset throttle bodies, pinpoint airbag and abs faults on various European and Japanese cars. Also correctly diagnose abs problems on a td5 discovery. But it would not communicate with the engine ecu, although my discovery...

Hi, I'm looking for roof, headlining, rear panel and tailgate. Midlands area preferably, but will travel a bit further if someone has all the bits I need. Thanks, Neil.

    Side window demisting

Somebody on here fitted one and did a sort of review on it. https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/defendervent-2-0-review.340919/#post-4460827 I need to do it on mine, but it seems a bit expensive for what is a few bits of plastic. May try and do something similar homemade. As Jeremy...

Can anyone identify this workmate type thing?

It's a wickes brand work bench, I got one about 20 years ago, still using it now, but it's very tired and damaged.

Disco 2 Checking wiring loom from XYZ switch

I could not see this damage until the loom was removed. It had been rubbing on the sharp edge on the front of transfer box. I think sometimes people rely too much on diagnostics rather than old fashioned working out what makes it happen (in my case wet weather conditions) and taking something...

Not so much a stolen Land Rover but a warning about having your money stolen

I'm currently looking for a t5 transporter, eBay is littered with ads like this. Usually a really random, but cheap price. 1 photo of the vehicle and photo of the price and email address to get you to do the deal off eBay. Sadly it only takes one gullible person to make it worthwhile for these...

    Disco 2 M + S - Green Flashing Lights (But Disappeared Later)

If I can remember correctly, it threw up implausible connection (or something like that) for xyz switch, but the fact it only happened during wet conditions led me to believe that it could be some kind of electrical connection being made when wet. This is what I found upon removing loom...

    Disco 2 M + S - Green Flashing Lights (But Disappeared Later)

My disco used to do this in wet conditions, it turned out to be the auto box loom had chafed on the sharp corner on top of transfer box.

    defender cubby box

I made one, found plans online, used leather panels salvaged from rear focus seats, to match the fronts I fitted to the 90. Probably cost about a tenner in materials as I had mdf left over from something else, had to buy a piano hinge,a can of contact spray adhesive and 2 drain pipe sockets for...

Best second hand car seats for my 90

I fitted leather seats from a focus I had broken, may be a little high but I'll see how it goes, also made a new cubby box and covered it with the leather from the rear seats, and trimmed the inside with the black felt like covering from the backs of rear seats

Soft nudge bar removal D2 facelift

Mine is a G4 and that nudge bar would have been fitted from new, but it feels flimsy and appears to be a p1ss poor job. I did leave mine off for a few days, but the holes in the bumper looked unsightly. The light guards removed will leave holes in the wings and the radiator grille.

Soft nudge bar removal D2 facelift

If you mean one like this, mine was fixed on with M8 x 150 bolts, access to the nuts behind is a bit difficult, you may not see them, but reach up and feel around for them, fairly sure you will only get a spanner up there, mine were rusted tight though. There was 2 holes about 10mm on the front...
