    Broke a pipe

Same happened to me one evening and needed the vehicle next morning. I used a plastic tube from a cotton bud to bodge the thing together until I got a replacement from an old rover. Bodge lasted weeks because its only a low pressure return. Dealers would only sell the complete return pipe.

    Sudden Power loss!Help needed fast!

If you've got a TD4, symptoms sound like a failing fuel pump. I had exactly the same problem with two different vehicles. Second time round, vehicle was under warranty. Dealers changed hoses, scratched heads and other things before finally agreeing to change the pump as was suggested in the...

    Which engine

I regularly drive defenders - great overland, prob no better, but not great on the road. Cant speak for the new disco but the old one was not so hot in tight spaces and like driving a boat at times. To clarify my point, for a vehicle in its class where road and off road driving is required, they...

    lack of power

Had the same problem with two different Freelanders. Each time, the in-line fuel pump (one behind the wheel arch) was faulty. Changed the pumps and filter and problem solved! Problem could also be caused by a damaged/split/crushed hose.

    Inline Fuel Filter-TD4

Its in front of the wheel arch cover. Accessible from underneath. Get down in front of the rear wheel (drivers side) and you will see a black plastic cowling with a drain plug in it. (no need to drain). It is held in place by two self tapping bolts - remove the one nearer the back of the car...

    TD4 Loss of Power

Had this problem twice - two different vehicles. Turned out to be a faulty fuel pump - the one in that stupid cowling beside the filter - on both occasions.
