    Engine oscillation

Interesting... this may also account for the other noise I am experiencing in the drivetrain when engaging/disengaging the clutch lower gears... Is this easy to check/fix? or do I have to give it to a workshop (I have access to a travel lift and some tools... me being one of them ;P ).

    Engine oscillation

Hi Guys, Have another mysterious symptom of my 2.4 Puma... in the last month or so, I have noticed that my engine wants to, for lack of a better term, oscillate under engine braking. Kind of like a very mild 'bunny hop' sort of feel, although not when I am applying drive. To explain it...

    small 'pop' upon applying drive

Decided to call into my local LR service centre and have a Defender 'expert' drive the car. He heard the pop noise but could not diagnose. Checked the drive shaft which was solid, and then suggested lack of grease in the swivel joints... I then went home, lifted and checked both swivel joints...

    small 'pop' upon applying drive

Hi guys, I have a strange noise which seems to have appeared recently in my 2008 110 Puma (travelled approx 63,000miles)... upon applying drive (releasing the clutch) where the vehicle begins to move, I hear a small 'pop' noise coming from the drivetrain somewhere. Mostly I hear it when...

    water leak in footwell

Thanks guys!... by coincidence a big, brief rainstorm hit so I sat in the car and watched :P found the leak is coming from the top right corner of the door seal as per Oldseadog's issue... and something noted in the 'Leaks Bible' :D Sooo... can I please ask what other's have done to rectify...

    water leak in footwell

LOL... I am fast learning that :) since it is water pooling on the mat, I am guessing that it is a drip coming from higher up. My first check (as per the manual you sent too) will be the windscreen mounts.

    water leak in footwell

Hi guys, I have noticed that my front right footwell (LHD 2009 110 2.4) has water pooling in the rubber floor mat, and the carpet is very wet after heavy rain. The door seal looks fine and door seals well as far as I can see. I do have some rust on the bolts that hold the bottom of the...

    Rear Tailgate adjustment

I'm in the South not far from Malmö. Yes... there are a few days a year that is it 'warm' here :P lol

    Rear Tailgate adjustment

oh ok... then it appears they have tried to glue it back once before. Any recommendation where I can order a new seal in EU?

    Rear Tailgate adjustment

yes, can get some pics tomorrow... meanwhile it has obviously been caught with something during loading which has pulled it off the metal seam, and then never looked at again. It is however too cold here now to use glue outside, so may need to wait until the Spring to replace the seal.

    Rear Fog light swap sides

So upon looking at the lights more closely and pulling the wires out more, I find that the swap has been done before, quite well, with the wires welded and then taped very well. Then comparing each side, we found that indeed LR has wired up the car for the swap to be very easy, just a matter...

    Rear Tailgate adjustment

Damn... that would have been a pain! luckily my little pile of snow was only 10cm long by approx 1cm deep :P

    Rear Tailgate adjustment

The lower left of the seal has been un-seated and pushed inside the car upon the door closing, so the rubber is twisted about 20cm up from this and pinched/flattened as it twists. I have taped up the lower section to try to seat it again but only helped slightly. Certainly I will try a new...

    Rear Tailgate adjustment

Hi guys, over the last few days it has been snowing every day, and I have noticed a small pile of snow inside the rear of my 110! I have checked the seals and all seem ok around the top, just not at the bottom where it has been pinched... although the door seems to close quite snug down...

    Rear Fog light swap sides

Yes... looks like I will just have to run wires across the back to each side... I know it is not difficult, but thought maybe there was another option like swapping pins in the harness plug under the bonnet to avoid cutting wires :P

    Rear Fog light swap sides

Hi there, I recently imported a UK spec LHD 2008 Defender 110 into Sweden, and by law here have to make the fog lamp to the o/s driver's side, where it currently sits on the right side of the car. I have read that earlier models had both plugs in the back for ease of swap, but mine does not...
