Thanks for this very helpful info! I can confirm that the issue for me is also the Steering Angle Sensor. I have full communications / diagnostics / reset facilities whilst it is unplugged. I have a new sensor on order so will post to confirm whether I have comms once it's replaced. Thanks...

Ahh, sorry, I mis-read this. I thought you meant that having re-set your EAS ECU everything now worked - but I see now you mean you are in the same position as me! :( Hopefully we'll find an answer soon...
