    Hi everyone!

Thanks! Well, that's the funny part. I wasn't even looking for one... It just appeared in my life! A friend working for a Volvo dealership told me a client was selling his 110 via them, initially I kind of ignored it... Then one night at his place, after what was probably too many beers, I...

    Hi everyone!

It'll be a properhappy ending when the Series One will be back on the road! In the meantime, I'm pretty sure she's a keeper... I had a Lada Niva as a daily driver, in a way they're comparable, I think.

    Defender 110 TD5 2006

I'll look it up, I appreciate the tip!

    Defender 110 TD5 2006

Nope, cloth seats. Not sure if related, but the AC fan runs continuously too. She's a LHD, yup. I'm gonna drive her in Europe, so it's fine.

    Defender 110 TD5 2006

Howdy folks, It took me longer than it should've, but I finally got myself a Landy (that runs)! Pretty much a textbook example of a compulsive buy, but I wouldn't have bought if it weren't for a buddy of mine who knows the owner and basically maintained this car its whole life. What I'm saying...

    Hi everyone!

Howdy folks, It took longer than expected, but I'm finally the proud owner of a Land Rover product that runs and drives: a 2006 Defender 110 TD5, covered about 110000 miles. I bought it from the original owner, and the car has been maintained by a friend that works at a reputable Land Rover...

Series 1 1953 model in need of love

Some MAJOR news! Tonton (name I've given to the car, that's how I used to call my grandpa, former owner of the car) is now out of the woods and in a dry place. Some pictures of today's adventure. We managed to get a local farmer to help us for the sketchy bit in the woods. Even with a Defender...

Series 1 1953 model in need of love

tottot, thank you! Wimblowdriver, that would actually make perfect sense, but there are no marks in the bed that would sugggest this. Maybe it was fitted to the floor, and the floor changed? I'm actually not painting it, just going to try to get rid of the non-original layers of paint so the LR...

Series 1 1953 model in need of love

I noticed that too... Maybe it has something to do with the metal plate with a hole in it, on the side. Like I said, I've been told this is an ex military vehicle, so God knows what it has seen...

Series 1 1953 model in need of love

Thanks! Next step is to put it in a proper dry storage, outside the woods. Once I'll have the money to rent/buy a workshop, I'll move it over there and start the actual work. But I might get started earlier, with individual components such as the rear lights, the instrument cluster...

Series 1 1953 model in need of love

OK, thanks for the info guys. I finally found the time to go and dig her out. She's still in the woods, but in a dry-ish place at least. Removed the leaves, moss and poop that accumulated for over 10 years. Overall condition is actually relatively good, one will easily notice that this was...

Series 1 1953 model in need of love

I'd still love a V8 though, but not in a Series! Been looking a Disco 1s, they do occasionally show up with V8s. Won't be driving it that much (at least I think haha), so fuel consumption hopefully won't be too much of an issue. I'll try to see what can be done on the old Peugeot diesel unit...

Series 1 1953 model in need of love

Sorry, I wasn't really clear, I work and live in the UK, but the car has to be moved within Belgium. I've already found a dry storage unit (won't be able to work on the car there I think, haven't seen the place yet), and my cousin should help me get the car out of there! Concerning this funny...

Series 1 1953 model in need of love

It's just that I've always been into Land Rovers in general, if I could choose I'd go for a RR Classic or a Defender, but not really the same budget.

Series 1 1953 model in need of love

I'm surprised by the very warm welcome, thank you gents! I've unfortunately had some potentially bad news. Without asking me, my grandma asked someone to take it away. It's a long story and basically, the car is still there. For now... I live in the UK, and the car is in Belgium. I am trying to...

Series 1 1953 model in need of love

The car should be fairly complete... I'll have some questions about whether or not some items/specs are original, once I'll get to the car again. Any idea if chassis are easy to find? Already found a bulkhead for £1500... excluding VAT! Also, if it turns out I have to put the original engine...

Series 1 1953 model in need of love

Hello Ladies and Gents, here's the family's old Series 1. I'd have to ask my granny to know exactly when we got it... It has seen A LOT of abuse. It was used as primary work horse for building a cabin in the woods, and not really lookd after. Car has been sitting for at least the last 20 years...

Belgian guy lost in the UK

No problem :D Never heard about it actually... But I'm not impressed with what you're telling me, Belgians are heavy drinkers :p Thanks man, I really appreciate! I've actually just got myself an insurance quote... And DAMN, it's expensive here! I'm at over £3k a year, what the f*ck! Might end...

Oh and thanks for the welcome, only just saw it :D But I'm from the other part of Belgium, the French speaking one :D

Belgian guy lost in the UK

Hi there, I'm having a look on the forum as we're speaking, guess I'll quite easily find all the info I need there! Checked some French second hand websites, they've got tons of Disco 1s, but they all seem to have been abused, sadly. I'm in Essex, Bishops Stortford (near Stansted airport)...
