I've just got it back from the garage and it's had a stub axle gasket, hub oil seal inner, hub nut and swivel greased plus 1.5hrs of labour. The noise has gone so I'm happy. thanks for all your input.

I've had it into a Land Rover garage today and they've confirmed a noise from the front nearside wheel but can't tell what it is. They wanted to replace the swivel ball housing at a cost of over £650 but I said not to do it as they couldn't confirm it was the culprit. So I'm none the wiser but...

I jacked up the front wheels and they spin freely with no noise. It's just had new callipers, discs and pads on the rear so it shouldn't be those but it's hard to tell where the noise is coming from. I'll jack up the rear today to see if they spin freely and quietly.

Over the last few days I've been getting a noise from what I believe is the front near side wheel. TIhe noise is best described as a vrr vrr vrr vrr and goes when over 35mph and is less when the engine gets warm. It doesn't seem to speed up much as I go faster. I won't be able to get it jacked...

Bit of a late reply but I shuffled the relays around and the rear screen started working. I swapped the relays back and it's still working so it looks like a bad connection to the relay! Thanks for the pointer Tony.

My rear heated screen has stopped working on my 04 90 TD5. All I've done so far is check the fuse which is okay. Do the switches fail or is more likely to be a broken wire in the loom? There is no voltage at any of the terminals on the sreen.

I'll give it a go then. I believe I only need to lift one wheel to be able to rotate the propshaft. The play is on the UJ on the propshaft side so I'm only going to do the propshaft

When I take the handbrake off I can see movement in the UJ at the end of the rear propshaft so it needs a new one. Is this a job that can be done on the drive. I'm guessing (as I haven't done this before) that it is just a case of undoing 8 bolts. Any gotchas I should be aware of!

Thanks for the help guys. I fitted an aftermarket sensor this morning and all the power is back. I only fitted a cheap one as I was unsure it would resolve the issue. Next time I'd go oem but I have a 12month warranty on the part I bought.

Thanks for all the input guys. I disconnected the MAF sensor and it goes like a rocket now. I'll get a new one soon but is there any risk to running without it ?

£90for an oem . Can anyone recommend an aftermarket maf Amadsensor as there are some for under 30quid on eBay. Also,can it be cleaned?
