Disco 2 Flo Flex rear ARB bushes

Morning all, Just wondering if anybody has had a problem with the rear ARB bushes not fitting? Finally got round to finishing poly bushing my disco yesterday, after a lot of hours and much swearing the last bushes were the rear ARB. Turned out they were considerably too small. I forgot to...

Disco 2 Range selector cable replacement

Thanks to you both, managed the job yesterday, there was a lot of swearing involved as the clevis pins were completely seized, one took a lot of smashing with a hammer and pin punch and that was easy enough because i could remove it without the rest of the cable because of where it was snapped...

Disco 2 Range selector cable replacement

Hi All, Half way through giving the D2 a bit of an overhaul. One of the things is the selector cable for the transfer box. I've looked on rave and in Haynes manual and both are more or less the same. Both say tackle it from underneath but I can't for the life of me work out how, most of it...

    Disco 2 Bush Replacement

Clunking/knocking hard to describe but it's when I turn the wheel off centre it's the initial movement that causes it and also when it reaches full lock. What was the cause of your problem?

    Disco 2 Bush Replacement

Same set up as mine and similar experiences in terms of handling. But it's more the clunking that's led me to investigate. I found the best way was to crawl under the front of the car and get somebody to wiggle the steering wheel with the engine running and see if there is any play in any...

    Disco 2 Bush Replacement

Evening Folks, Since replacing my front axle and not swapping all parts from my original axle to replacement axle, I am inevitably starting to have some issues, steering mostly. Ive decided to just give it a complete overhaul, the panhard rod bushes seem shot, got a bit of play in them, drag...

Disco 2 SOLVED - Struggling for power. AGAIN

Problem solved. Fuel pump once again. Mates dad happened to have a spare genuine pump (as you do). Swapped it out tonight and it's back to normal. Back to suppliers for the 4 month old pump, lesson learnt don't buy cheap pumps. Thanks for your help folks!

Disco 2 SOLVED - Struggling for power. AGAIN

I'll try that tomorrow if I get chance, sod the neighbours lol. EGR is removed so can rule that out. Probably should have mention in OP

Disco 2 SOLVED - Struggling for power. AGAIN

Disco 2 SOLVED - Struggling for power. AGAIN

Been ongoing for a couple of weeks now, TD5 is pretty much gutless. It wont rev beyond 3000rpm in any gear. Foot flat to the floor on the motorway and its exactly the same, won't go beyond 76 with my foot planted firmly on the floor (I know the speed limit is 70mph I apologise) Had a similar...

    Disco 2 Transfer selector

No internals aren't in there. Just decided the cheapest option is to replace the existing snapped linkage. As much as I like and prefer diff lock over the traction control, for what I do with it I can't justify the cost of fitting the internals

    Disco 2 Transfer selector

Revival of an old thread here but actually only just getting round to sorting this problem. Turns out I'm not lucky enough to have the CDL internals on my transfer box so it's a cable job for me. Had a discussion with my local supplier about them and apparently only 2 companies manufacture them...

Disco 2 Nasty bang when braking (Solved)

Problem solved, went under and had a wiggle and a feel and realised one of the brake carriers had worked loose. Should have noticed this before but reckoned to check. DOH! Cheap fix though so thats one thing. Panhard rod was a little loose also but not major, took it up the road and all seemed...

Disco 2 Nasty bang when braking (Solved)

Thanks for that, not had chance to get under but got that many knocks bangs and rattles now and some odd handling traits I'm going to just renew all bushes and suspension components. When I changed the axle I noticed my front shockers weren't in the best of states anyway so decided if I...

Disco 2 Nasty bang when braking (Solved)

Hi folks, Some may remember my diff post before Christmas others may not, but blew my front diff so ended up replacing the full axle. A week or 2 later, the thing started banging when braking, just a quick loud bang. Does it forward or reverse, but doesn't seem as loud in reverse. Perhaps speed...

    Looking at getting a Disco 2 TD5

3250 got me an 03 facelift gs with some little creature comforts like climate control, cruise control etc. 100k on the clock almost exactly. Seemed like a good buy at the time and almost everything on the checklist was A-Ok if it wasn't it was clearly pointed out to me. The only thing I will...

Disco 2 Blown a hole in front diff

That's the remains of the diff. New axle on but it all feels a bit stiff. Got some sort of ABS fault now also but perhaps I've damaged an ABS sensor in the process. At least the thing drives now!

Disco 2 Blown a hole in front diff

Looks like a good effort! Will get some pictures of mine later today or tomorrow, managed to source an axle locally going to pick it up shortly. So once I've got the fresh one on ill pull the old one to pieces and assess the damage.
