1990 Range Rover Classic Dashboard Scratches

Thanks Allan - I’ll deffo have a look at the heat gun thing - I think a dye may be the answer. I get the feeling that the hard plastic of the Classic Dash just cannot hold it’s colour. I think I have some back to black somewhere which is actually a white cream colour, so I may try scratching...

1990 Range Rover Classic Dashboard Scratches

Not sure, a bit of careless handling when moved around the garage. They are not deep or anything, but leave a white line, like the colour has been taken off.

1990 Range Rover Classic Dashboard Scratches

Hi All, I am finally putting back the dash etc and wondered if any of you had any good ideas on how to remove scratches from a Range Rover classic dashboard. Mine is grey, I have tried standard dash cleaner and that didn’t do anything but make it smell nice Cheers

Range Rover Classic 1990 Upper Tailgate Light Switch

Many thanks - I wish the previous owner had known that! Do you know if they ever bend back in? I have adjusted the catches as best I can and even moved the lower tailgate in a little - so now at least they both do latch correctly.

Range Rover Classic 1990 Upper Tailgate Light Switch

Hi All, Just a for information only. Both my new car and the donor car had non-operating tailgate switches for the interior light. Both had aluminium tailgates fitted and when closed they would not open the switch. So I purchased the correct part with the little 90 deg feature on it - and it...

1987 RRC 3.5 - Rear Upper Tailgate Locked

They were really rusted on - and I wanted to keep the tailgate as good as possible - until I opened it I thought it might be better than the one on my car.... - it wasn't!

1987 RRC 3.5 - Rear Upper Tailgate Locked

Hi All, Follow up on this. I could get the handle off, but even with a friend helping, pressing that centre pin did not release the side parts, or getting a screwdriver in there and twisting. As it was a donor car, and I wanted to get on and get bits out - I used a recip saw between the...

Range Rover Classic 1990 Air Vents

As I bug folk on here with questions!- I think it polite to give the end answer... So when the previous owner converted the car from LHD to RHD, he had a donor car.. with AC.... so that's what was fitted to the car, although, my one does not have AC! So I will change the lower dash to the non...

Range Rover Classic 1990 Air Vents

Thanks Norseman - that intel on AC having 4 vents is great to have. I have no idea if mine has AC :) But clear now that the donor car does not have it! I assume that the presence of the AC compressor is the only real way of knowing. Thanks again.

Range Rover Classic 1990 Air Vents

Hi All, So I am moving on to sorting out some interior issues on my 1990 2 door Classic. I have a 1987 Donor Car and selecting all the best bits. When I took the panel below the steering column off, I also took off the right hand vent - there was nothing behind it! just a vent! On the donor...

    1990 Range Rover Classic Springs..

Hi Jayridium, Well that was a great explainer -many thanks. Seems logical to me then that as my car has been converted to RHD and the various bits moved - the standard springs are the answer. Thanks for taking the time.

    1990 Range Rover Classic Springs..

I am probably being ignorant here... Wouldn't a larger spring of the same Lbs value simply keep the car a little bit higher - not necessarily give it more weight bearing ability?

    1990 Range Rover Classic Springs..

    1990 Range Rover Classic Springs..

Just to feed back - Standard springs were fitted and it is as level as you can expect it to be - I haven't driven it yet, so it may settle differently! So it appears, an LHD to RHD conversion needs standard springs.

1987 RRC 3.5 - Rear Upper Tailgate Locked

Hi All, I have what has become a donor car for my 2 Door 1990 RRC. The rear upper tailgate is locked and the key I have been given does not unlock it. The seller is a great chap, but he bought the car with a view to restoring it and was open than he could not get the tailgate unlocked. I...
