I noticed on another thread where someone suspected they had lost sync with the BECM and ECU that they had no "check engine" light come up. I am getting the message come up when I turn the ignition on. Before I give up hope of getting it running again is there any common problems you are aware...

Annoying thing is, it was running fine when I parked it up a couple of years ago. I was hoping I could just put a battery on it and it would run again.

I just tried on my good P38 which everything works on and when unlock is pressed the windows don't open. Therefore I'm thinking my 1997 model won't have that feature either. I will do some do some more investigating and see if I can anything to work. Only want the door open so I can move it and...

How does that work? I know holding the lock button will close all the windows but I wasn't aware you could open windows with the remote as well?

Hello all, I have been a bit stupid. I have a spare P38 I use for parts. I removed the drivers door latch from it to replace a faulty latch on the one I drive daily. I put the faulty latch into the spare motor to get the door to close but did not connect up any of the rods for the latches or...

**UPDATE** After a couple of drinks last night I decided I might as well purchase a second NEW Alternator to make sure the first replacement wasn't faulty. So today I purchased a genuine new DENSO alternator from my local car parts shop. An hour later it was fitted and .... NO "alternator fault"...

Do you know how to test the micro switch? If I'm given a dummy guide then I'm fine testing things (like with the post on the door actuator) but otherwise auto electrics are a headache for me. Also what should I be looking for in the white connectors? Thanks for all your advise.

**UPDATE"" I received my new latch (actuator), its fitted and.... I now have central locking again! :D The only problem is my tailgate still doesn't lock :eek: The upper and lower sections work fine on the button, and when its open the interior lights come on BUT I have noticed no warning...

**UPDATE** A new (second hand) lock is in the post to me today so hopefully by tomorrow the central locking will be working again! :) Only the Alternator, A/C Condenser, Brake Discs and Head lining to repair/replace now! :(
