    Electrics problem

Just got back onshore and blipped the key fob and the doors have unlocked. Everything else is working. Pulled the side panel covers off in the drivers and passenger footwells and noticed on the drivers side that the harness connectors slightly moist so looks like water may have played havoc as...

    Electrics problem

I was hoping MIKE Lr would have replied on what was the final outcome of his fault. Sierrafery you have already replied to my post a few weeks back, but I am still out in the North Sea but once I get home I have to hot wire the super locks to get the doors open. My IDM has no water damage and...

number of previous owners - concern??

When I bought my Disco 3 it was advertised as never been towed. When viewing the vehicle the owner was on holiday to whom I spoke to at the same time and his business Prather was present and also at the owners address. When handed the both set of keys, log book and service book the alarm bells...

Gremlins - doors locks, rear windows not working.

Rule no 1 is always disconnect the battery when it comes to hot wiring vehicle electrics and will be using a motorcycle battery with fuse when de-activating the locks. Vehicle electronics are just unpredictable as probably most owners have found even when jump starting or getting the polarity...

Gremlins - doors locks, rear windows not working.

I have a copy of the distribution schematic and what you have described matches the schematic. It is raining in Scotland and I have to return to work for the next 2 weeks so when I get back I will deactivate the door locks for entry. God knows why Land Rover do not install a key switch or...

Gremlins - doors locks, rear windows not working.

Unplugged the inertia switch but still doors will not unlock. Also noticed that front and rear fog lights not working which is pointing to the IDM. I might have to bite the bullet and get a reliable IDM from a breakers. I intend to check all grounding points associated with BCU and IDM and all...

Gremlins - doors locks, rear windows not working.

Fuses checked out ok in sequence. As stated I already removed the IDM and took it apart to check the printed circuit board for water damage and it still looks brand new so no water ingress. The BCU will not communicate with the Nanocom so suspecting the BCU could have a fault. I still have more...

Gremlins - doors locks, rear windows not working.

Drove my Disco 2 TD5 to the shops and back, but when I went to use it a few hours later I could not gain access from the key fob although the immobiliser had disarmed. I used the key to gain access on the drivers door and the vehicle started, but the passenger and rear door plus tail back door...

Non running Disco TD5 Auto year 2000

The actual fault causing it to splutter and then eventually not fire up was on the main engine wiring loom which had chaffed throught the harness outer insulation and injector wires causing an intermittent short against the inlet manifold I changed out the injector harness aswell although it did...

Non running Disco TD5 Auto year 2000

I too had added Redex diesel treatment just a few days earlier, but thought that was the cause when it started to splutter to a halt. Since the engine and injector harness have now been replaced all was ok until the fuel pump gave up a couple of months later. So much for the garage that said...

    Technical Help With Discovery TD5

S is for Sport mode and will hold the gears a lot longer when in High. Will burn more fuel and alot more fun when pulling away from lights with boy racers. M & S lights on together I have had this a few times and have managed to clear it. Turn ignition off and select park. Move selector...

I think they only do it for the TD5. You will need to go into the nanocom web site and ask them the question. Sorry I cannot help

    TD5 nanocom

I have one and it is a handy diagnostic tool especially when hooked up to a laptop computer. So far sorted out the faults on the 3 amigos and also injector faults. Got mine from Paddocks so it only had the unlock code for the TD5 ECU on the engine. Nanocom support will e-mail the unlock codes...

Non running Disco TD5 Auto year 2000

After 3 weeks of getting p.....d of with excuses, I contacted the AA at 9.30am on Tuesday morning and they even tried to wrangle out of the recovery due to the distance from Aberdeen to Glasgow. Just quote terms and conditions and they back down and send a recovery truck. The recovery chap...

Non running Disco TD5 Auto year 2000

I should have stuck with my old faithful Trooper with 230000 miles on the clock and never missed a heart beat. It was a shame that the chassis was not as reliable as the 3.1 TD engine. And I was impressed with the Disco, but should have done my home work before buying the Disco. LR should keep...

Three weeks back when we had heavy snow in Aberdeen my Disco started ok in the morning as it usually does and after getting half a mile it began to splutter. I managed to get it to the road side before it stalled completely. The AA were called who arranged for it to be taken to a local LR...
