i have an s reg p38 blown 3 rads, replaced water pump but they still gone have the head off now and belive i have a cracked head! do i replace the engine or wot conversions can you do ?

my p38 2.5dse was over heating and blew a rad so changed thermostat , rad , water pump and tank cap. was fine for about month and half then temp went up rapid and blew the rad again! have taken head off today and found a few tiny tiny cracks near the injector inlets so am now asuming this was...

no the rad was fine! as i check all my oil and stuff etc..

it happened just after start up so was cold! went bout 3/4 of mile across the farm and whoose up temp looked under bonnet to find big crack on to of rad!

1999 p38 2.5dse over heated in the matter of mins only to blow a big crack in top of rad!! any body have any ideas how this may have been cause! ive got the rad out and the thermostat seems to be opening! pump seems to be pumping! so im kinda stumped! help needed James

hi all still got gearbox problem (not 4th gear) i have found a gearbox and wondered if it would fit its out of a n reg p38 and mine is a s reg 2.5dse will it fit?

can brake bands be replaced with out removing and stripping the gearbox or can they be done with it in?

the trouble im having is it wont engage 4th full stop goes to change up from 3rd and intead of revs dropping and engaging 4th it revs up slightly then continues to rev in 3rd!!! completely lost 4th! to start it was interminant then one day no 4th! but it first happened when i was accelatring...

hi all ive got a 1999 p38 witha gearbox fault! it turns out ive lost top gear had it scanned and theres no faults in the computer , oil is still clean and a nice red! any one got any ideas?? many thanks james
