    Modern day equivalent ?

I've a looong term ambition to build something on a P38 chassis, would have some advantages over 110 in terms of brakes, TC, wider wheel track. I'd keep the air suspemsion too (I know that will raise some eyebrows but when you know the system inside out it can be made reliable)

Factory P38 Brush Bar & Winch Mount

The OE winch mount is awful (IMHO) and robs the P38 of a heap of approach angle. If I was doing it again I'd go for a dismountable winch set up.

    brought it home today

I'd start with the track rods but its worth looking at the steering damper too. I'll be up your way tomorrow, if I get a chance I'll call in.

    How can it be?

Yeah, having seen the OE and my DIY replacement side by side I'd happily pay maybe £10 for an OE one but £75 is off the chart alright.

    How can it be?

I had to do both of mine after the last 2 NCT tests. I did both myself re-using the fittings from the original pipes. The one thing I will say is that the original pipes have a wall thickness far in excess of the flimsy copper pipe I replaced them with. I haven't measured it but the wall...

    2.5 diesel MPG

It has a cd of 0.38, hardly brick-like and only matched today by things such as a Tiguan and Kuga etc. For comparison the RRC had a cd of 0.45. And the diesel engine while outclassed now was cutting edge technology 20 years ago, probably the most advanced indirect injection engine out there...

Anyone here in Cuxton Marina last Thursday 16th

One of my Aunts drove nothing but Fiats for years, a long line of 127's Ritmo, Strada and finally a Tipo. The 127's and Ritmo were rust buckets but reliable. The Strada was a bit better rust wise. The Tipo was galvanised but was the worst built car she'd ever had. One of the doors lierally fell...

Help! advice needed with engine swap! 2.5D HSE

You need to match the EMS code in the Bosch EDC to the Code stord in the BECM or it wont start. This can be done with FAultmate or Synchmate.

I did it! I found 1 and bought it!

Hey, lay off Prius drivers a bit, don't tar all of us with the same brush!:p My Rangie and Prius get on just fine outside my house and always have, although I don't park them side by side as I'm suspicious about the Prius causing battery drain to the Rangie:D:D:D SAS1810, thats a great...

Anyone here in Cuxton Marina last Thursday 16th

well done Steve!:) It was the pressure sensor, phew! I had bought a filter to try first anyway, a Mahle which is supposed to be what Fiat use. When I went to take off the original, the exact same filter was on it. That didn't solve it so I did the sensor, Oh this is going to be a b**tard to...

Anyone here in Cuxton Marina last Thursday 16th

:D:D:D Yeah it got a fair beating with the ugly stick alright. I rate it just behind the Ssangyong Rodius, Nissan Juke and Chrysler PT Cruiser in the Ugliest car olympics, but you know what, it puts a smile on my face everytime I see it. Its kind of like having a pug or a bulldog for a pet...

Anyone here in Cuxton Marina last Thursday 16th

I was over in Blighty (down in Kent) last week buying a motor for SWMBO (A Fiat Multipla Ugly bug, but each to their own:p). I was waiting to be picked up at the train station in Cuxton when I heard the most wonderful woofle of a V8 approaching. It was a late model P38 4.6 with theeeee best...

Swan neck and removable tow bar pictures

There is aother big circular hollow section (4" IIRC) which goes across between the chassis rail bumper mounts. As I said in another thread, the OEM hitch is stronger than any aftermarket one I've seen and I've fitted a few.

    Tow ball weight

I think that you still have to comply with the vehicles plated weights which will give a max towing weight of 3,500kg for the RR. Believe me, they are top class towing machines but thats enough for it.

    Tow ball weight

The OE 'phallic' one is hung off a very substantial full dedicated chassis crossmember too so I doubt any aftermarket one is stronger. The max tow ball weight will be a function of vehicle stability, not structural strength. The P38 (and the RRC before it) has relatively short wheelbases (108...
