    More LT77 woes...

Thanks James. In fairness, from neutral to reverse there is definitely a crunch. Not a full-on, face-wincing, high pitched dentist's drill grinding, but definitely a deeper sounding growl that slows down and then lets reverse engage. Are you saying this could be a clutch problem then? If so...

    More LT77 woes...

^The Oracle speaks. Not what I wanted to hear James but thanks for replying. ATF Dexron 2 is in it, as recommended by Ashcroft, with Red Lubeguard.

    More LT77 woes...

OK I drove it again last night. More symptoms... Going from 3rd down to 2nd...it won't go until the vehicle basically comes to a complete stop 4th down to 3rd crunched once 3rd to 4th crunched every time if rushed Double declutching with a "blip" sort of worked on the 3rd to 2nd issue a few...

    More LT77 woes...

Yes, I did when I had the box out last time. I don't think it's clutch related...I changed the fluid just to rule it out, and although the clutch feels much better, the gearbox symptoms are identical. I'd also expect it to be tricky to get into 1st from neutral if it was a clutch issue, and...

    More LT77 woes...

Gah...less than 10k miles after fitting a recon LT77 to my 110 I have a couple of issues that have suddenly manifested themselves... 1-Crunching going from 3rd to 4th unless I change gear slowly 2-Extremely difficult to go from 3rd to 2nd. No crunching, it just won't go, and there's a faint...

    Commercial chassis rust proofing...which one?

Well, I've had her done and she looks OK. The chassis was in remarkably good condition...is there any truth that the military ones are made from heavier steel? I need to get underneath and double check everything carefully as I did spot a couple of areas where the coating was a bit thin but...

    A "clonk" from underneath...

1986 110 CSW, and I get a single "clonk" from underneath when turning and loading the suspension up a bit. What is this likely to be and where shall I start looking? And how do I test it? Thanks

OP, how many cans did you need to do the job? Was one enough?

    Dirt D-Fenders...do they work?

OK great...so it sounds like they work...I might give them a go and report back!

    Dirt D-Fenders...do they work?

Chaps, thanks for the replies, but I don't want to be pressure washing all the time and I don't want mudflaps. Of course I love a muddy truck after a good off road sesh...however I want to be able to drive on tarmac without looking like I've been just been greenlaning! What I'm specifically...

    Dirt D-Fenders...do they work?

Having just got my truck nice and clean, it's now filthy again up the doors having simply driven down some dirty country roads. Grrr. I have 265/75/16 Cooper Discoverer STTs, on Boosts, and 30mm spacers (it's an early 110 so needs the spacers to get the alloys on). I don't really want/like...

    Which shock absorbers?

So doing the maths Terrafirma look to be roughly twice the price of the bog standard Britpart. Simple question...is it worth it? Sure, there's a bit of bling which I quite like, is the gas and other benefits worth the extra money?

    Which shock absorbers?

My 110 has leaky rear shocks so it's probably time to replace them...and I might as well do all four. But which ones? The vehicle is not a daily driver, most of it's use is on road, although it does do some laning and pay and play...proper tyres, winch, snorkel etc are all present and correct...

Pre-Defender 110, which front prop UJ?

No, the forum has gone very funny...I can't delete posts or add photos for some reason. On the good side though, my prop is done and the hideous noise has gone. It's odd, there was only a bit of play in the UJs but the noises were horrendous. All sorted, quiet and smooth now!

Pre-Defender 110, which front prop UJ?

The new prop has arrived but it does look to be different to the old one. The new one has the right part number on it (FRC5566) and was described as a front prop for an 83-94 110. My truck is a bitsa with a 200Tdi in it plus a Disco 2 transfer box...can I just check there's no reason why that...
