It was just the sensor I got replaced. Before it went it was very slow at starting, I replaced the glow plugs but no luck then it just failed to start completely one morning so I took it to them and 7-8 fault codes came up so they test fitted a new sensor to it and she fired up straight away

Mine had done the same thing but it turned out that it was the sensor in the high pressure pump had failed and was blocking the fuel from going to the injectors. Cost about £300 in a land rover specialist garage

Cost me a little over £650 when I did mine a few months ago. That was for clutch kit and dual mass and labour.

Mine has that problem too. Misfire and plenty of smoke. Been told it's the injector. If not that then the valve stem seals. What colour is the smoke ?

That's third party fire and theft too.... Don't know why I bother insuring it because it's more off the road being repaired that on the road..

It turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator in the HP pump. Just another problem of problems I've had with it. Thanks anyway.

Seems like you do need to pray to god for it to start every morning when you own one. My stomach makes funny turns when I walk up to mine every morning and feel sick when I put the key in. Huge sigh of relief when It does pop into life though.

I have a freelander td4 2003 sport and I read the voltage of the came sensor plug should be around 9.6v in the first and second cable and 0 in the 3rd. But for some reason my first cable has 1v the second had 11.5v and 3rd 0v. Anyone have any idea what the cause could be ?

Haha definitely. Bought it with confidence as it has been in the family for quite a bit with absolutely no trouble. Once I get my hands on it everything goes wrong. Safe to say I won't be getting another freelander
