    East Sussex calling

Hi, unfortunately my 110 is off the road at the moment - fitted an intercooler, timing belt, new cross member, and general tidying up but haven't finished due to moving house so it's parked up in storage. I'll keep an eye for any future plans and see if I'm ready. Good luck with the Series 3...

Another few hours this weekend, made new floor plates as the existing ones were corroded and riddled with unnecessary holes. Went for chequer plate as didn't need painting. Fitted the lever gaiters which finishes off the floor area Fitted new pedal rubbers as pedals very slippery...

As it was raining I didn't want to take the Landy out to finish the carb so thought it was time to get the wheels on the old girl. Did a bit of paint touch up whilst the wheels were off and re-checked fixings were tight etc. The Limestone finish looks great against the black tyres and hub...

I fitted the used Zenith carb which I purchased as it had intact choke springs. It ran badly so needed an overhaul. Spent a few hours at the dining table stripping, cleaning and fitting the overhaul components. Good quality components in the Bearmach kit. Re-fitted to the engine and it runs...

Hi, yes the round Smiths heater. By new I meant new to me, purchased a used on via ebay but confirmed as not leaking. The last one I purchased leaked throughout the entire matrix. It's just arrived and doesn't leak so will be fitting soon...

Thanks for the clarification for the seats and wipers, much appreciated. At least I've not wasted money on the wrong ones :)

Finally, can anyone confirm the types of seat base which are correct for the seat metalwork I have. The 88 didn't come with seats. I purchased a set of good used seats which have MDF type bases. The rear swab aligns with the seat rail upright with a 1/4" bolt. I can't see how the lower seat...

I'm struggling to find the correct wiper arms and blades for the Lucas wiper motors. The ones which came with the screen are perished and different types. I purchased one set from John Craddock listed as 2A/3 but were too long. The blades wipe past the glass top and sides. Can anyone confirm...

After a bit of hassle with getting the doors to close, things have come together finally. Roof will be painted in situ as it was too vulnerable to paint and store off the chassis. Dashboard nearly finished, all instruments work, speedo and choke cables connected. Ordered a new heater with...

Thanks for the positive feedback, it's been a fun project for sure. Took it for a drive around a farm and got it all mucky underneath, much better :) Looking forward to getting it on the road finally. Now considering next project.... Another landrover or a VW T2 camper !

Final job in the wiring is to fit new instrument voltage regulator and test the fuel and temp gauge. Wiring harness had the 2 leads for the engine - 1 for the cold start switch as 1 for the temp sender. Couldn’t find it. After some google and forum searches realise that the engine doesn’t have...

A few hours spent buzzing out the wiring harness and checking against wiring diagrams was time well spent to label each terminal and simplify the final installation onto the dash components. With the help of my good lady we connected the battery and tested each circuit. All was good. Lights...

Dashboard refurbished. New glass and bezels for the dials. Some new switches and all new tags. Need to source the power outlet sockets - disproportionately expensive for what they are and won’t be used. Are there cheaper good looking alternatives ?

Found a number of holes in the tub which didn’t need to be there so went looking for acceptable solutions instead of ugly blanking plugs / bolts. The rear badge location had 4 holes instead of 2 so found this badge instead of the the standard oval.

Another successful weekend, this time Dad came to help fit the cappings. Lots of redundant holes from previous owners; will tidy up when final fittings are installed. Very therapeutic and rewarding to see the transformation it makes. Next jobs will be all the seals and final assembly of...

Had a good day finishing the front wiring and installing the bumper and grille Plenty of P-clips used to hold the harness in place. My good lady helped with the harness repairs, a 2nd pair of hands always welcome - and she brought lunch too. :)
