I have bought a new drivers door mirror for my 1999 Discovery TD5 (after someone ****ted it and broke the whole thing) ..... but I can't see how to get the old one off - let alone fit the new one. Any ideas please ???

My Discovery TD5 makes a strange sort of short growling / vibrating noise, a few times, every 5 seconds or so as I'm walking away from the car. Is it normal ? What is it ? Is it something to do with the self levelling suspension ? Also, my handbrake lever in the car gets hot. Any ideas ?

This or some reason the radio (or CD or tape whatever) keeps cutting out for about 2 seconds. The display stays on the screen - its just the sound that cuts out. Touching the brake pedal seems to cause it to happen too. Is it electrical / could it be the solenoid / bad earth .... or what. Glad...

I have just had a £2200 bill for replacing the cylinder head on my TD5. The gasket failed because of plastic locating dowels in the cylinder head distorting, causing the head to move, scoring the head itself. As the head cannot be skimmed .... I needed a new head. Why the hell they ever used...
