    Freelander 1 A Bar/Bull Bar fitting advice

Thanks Slimboy, I tried the Topix a few days ago but the bar I have isn't on there. I believe the one I have is DA4111 and I can't find fitting instructions anywhere! It all looks pretty obvious but just not sure what the best course of action is regarding attaching it to/thru the bumper.

    Freelander 1 A Bar/Bull Bar fitting advice

Hello all, recently purchased an A bar for my 99 L Series, I believe the brackets at the bottom attach to the sub frame bolts that I can feel inside the plastic bash plate. The two fittings on the side I assume are for bolts that go thru the plastic and attach to the metal bumper behind? Do you...

    faded black bits.....

Recently used the heat gun method followed by boiled linseed oil and was blown away. I have the dark grey trim and it looks as new. For the roof (3 door) I used gtechniq G4 a little bottle but you only need a quarter of it and the hard back looks great.

    2 stroke oil

I use 300ml of Halfords Low Ash mineral oil a tank full in my L Series and it runs quieter and picks up better, no benefit in MPG tho. I had heard that putting it in the TD4 can affect the MAF sensor... Probably someone a bit more technical on here can either correct me or confirm. Just my two...

    Strange Noise

Checked the exhaust and that was fine so took it down to the local Landy service centre, called me today saying it was the tensioner and the belt was looking sorry too. Should all be fixed tomorrow!!

    Strange Noise

Cheers all for the replies, gonna have a slide under and check the length of the exhaust as before my ham fists were interfering with the back box the sound wasn't there, failing that got it booked in on Thursday for the local garage to check out the belts. I'm very unwilling to fettle with...

    Strange Noise

Hello all, 99 L Series Hippo. So Friday while travelling back from Leicester my back box decides to disengage from the central exhaust. No biggie, replace the clamp Saturday morning and everything looking good again. However by Saturday afternoon the Hippo had developed a sort of whirring sound...

    FREE to a good home!!

Hi all, if anybody needs a Phillips CD changer from a 99 Freelander let me know, I have one complete with a cassette and wiring. Dunno if it works as it was already in the Hippo when I bought her but the headunit is a Kenwood. I'm in Essex but will be in Leicester for the next few weekends.

Wow. I'm really not that devious and certainly wouldn't 'pretend' anything to appease a cynic. Really enjoy the forum and the advice I have read and received but this has really soured it for me. Maybe I should be a lot more careful with my wording in the future. Lesson learnt.
