    gear box failure

decided to go for one of the very last TD5 defenders ever made. 07 plate delivery miles. i had a good long think about a "new" new one and decided it would probably be best to avoid the first model as possible problems wont have appeared yet? only problem i can think of is that i wont want to...

    egr removal

i have fitted one of these before, came with a blanking plate for the exhaust manifold and a straight through pipe from inlet manifold to intercooler. also came with a small blanking cap for the blue vacume hose to the valve on the EGR. found it very easy to fit, and as charlesy has said you...

    gear box failure

    gear box failure

good news my trusty land rover is now useless, the gearbox has blown up! sounded really good twisting meatl, cracking joints, smashing bearings, plates of metal hitting the flore ect ect my vehicle is now abandoned on the side of a road with no name, in a pool of its own fluids! how...

Repair or buy a galv chassis

new chassis. if a jobs worth doing its worth doning well. dodgy welding a landrover chassis is certainly going to devalue the vehicle. its about the only solid part on a land rover and if its rusty and falling appart then you dont really have much choice.

    Brake problem?

general grabbers arnt the best boots for anyting. could be sticky pistons in your brake calipers. or your disks could have a nice rusty outer edge that digs into the brake pad under hard braking. take a hammer and bang that rust off. you could try new disks and pads, land rover parts shop.com...

Would anyone acompany me to look at a 110?

"just mechanically sound and fairly reliable" dont look for a landy you need a toyota! i am a keeper here in scotland and as such i have to use landys as my only means of transport and for lamping ect. to be honest they are not the best 4x4xfar anymore. 4K could get you a nice quiet motor...

    Allisport intercooler TD5

had the Twisted uprated intercooler and pipes fitted, it fits perfectly in place and bolts to the radiator just the the original should. very good piece of kit, alittle bit smaller than the allisport one but because the radiator is exposed as standard (the alli blocked it off completely) the...

    Allisport intercooler TD5

just had the new twisted performance intercooler fitted with the hose kit, fits like a glove. seems to be a bit slower through the rev range now but the clouds of smoke have gone, and it does seem to "pul" in a more controlled fashion. i am happy with it, just have to wait a few days for the...

    Stratstones Lr

yes , i had a look on auto traader, thanks for the tip, lots of nice landys to choose from. i still seems to me that you will struggle to get a TD5 with average milage for under £5000. they seem to hover arround the £6000 - £6500 mark. i still think £3500 for my vehicle is...
