A friend has a device that you fit a farm jack into and effectively turns it into two,with the toes about 2 feet apart,giving a good even lift front or rear,probably on the side too,if you have side bars.Can't find any pics of it,and don't know where to buy one.

Mine has this,and there is a fob,without which the car won't start as it's an immobiliser as well.I only found this out when I got another key cut,and with the normal set lying in the house it wouldn't start,so my spare key is useless!Perhaps your fob is concealed in the cubby box or somewhere...
